Fubuki Shirakami (白上フブキ) (born: October 5, 2001) is a Japanese VTuber affiliated with Hololive, debuting as part of its first generation of VTubers alongside Mel Yozora, Aki Rosenthal, Matsuri Natsuiro and Akai Haato. She is also a part of Hololive GAMERS along with Mio Ookami, Korone Inugami and Okayu Nekomata.

Debuting on June 1, 2018,[1] Shirakami streams games, chats with her fans and covers Japanese pop music. Her earliest streams were chatting streams and within a month she gained over 30,000 subscribers on her channel.[2] The first game she played was a demo version of Ace Combat 7, a game she has cited as her favorite.[3]
Despite her sweet and positive exterior, she is known to be ridiculously apathetic and sociopathic while gaming, like the time she stole "Human" meat in Minecraft and crafted it into "Friend" meat. Unlike most UnderTale players, she was apathetic to Flowey the Flower when he was begging for his life. However the biggest example would be when she played Project Winter with several others and led a group to kill people while making it look like an accident, and even dragged around corpses and oretebded that they were alive.[4] But usually she is kind, and loves interacting with NPCs and having small conversations. She also feels hurt/embarrassed if she makes a decision in-game that hurts an NPC's feelings.
She has also streamed Super Mario Maker 2, Dead By Daylight, Mario Tennis Aces, The Evil Within 2, El Shaddai Ascension, Phasmophobia, Left 4 Dead 2, Persona 5, Mario Party Superstars, Tales of Luminaria, The Radio Station, Splatoon 2, Dragon Quest, Dark Deception, UnderTale, Knockout City, Biohazard, Garctic Phone, Pacify, PAON, One Hand Clapping, Phantasy Star 2 Online, Hollow Knight, Ultimate Chicken Horse, The Evil Within, Journey to the Savage Planet, Fall Guys, Hanako, El Shaddai, Surgeon Simulator 2, ARK, Getting Over It, and Molly Online Crane Game. She also has a soft spot for gacha games and is particularly addicted to Fate/Grand Order, Arknights and Twisted Wonderland.
She also plays Animal themed games such as Animal Royale,[5] and even her Minecraft skin resembles the skin of a fox.
She has released original songs such as Say! Fanfare![6]
Fubuki has also become a reaction channel as of 2021, reacting to her own PV and films such as Deadpool and John Wick.[7]
Collaborations[]
Fubuki collaborates a lot with Mio while playing several games such as APEX Legends and Overcooked 2.[8] Mio sometimes cameos in her shitposts.[9] Fubuki was a guest on Kiara's talk show.
Fubuki and Marine have played Phasmophobia, UNO and World of Warships together, and a lot of her Monster Hunter Rise streams have featured Flare and Coco. She has playeda number of games with Watame, such as Left 4 Dead 2 (which also featured Towa), Super Mario Party (which also featured Flare) and Operation Tango: Spy Mission.[10][11] She has also played Phasmophobia with Botan, Watame, Polka and Subaru[12].
Anya's oshi is Fubuki, and she has praised her many times[13]. The two have also collaborated for Dead by Daylight[14].
With the debut of HoloX, she played Overcooked 2 with Iroha and Watame and Phasmophobia with Koyori[15][16].
Fubuki collaborates a lot with Animare - Souya Ichika hosted a stream where she played Dead by Daylight with Fubuki and Hero Minamori, and Fubuki was also one of the guests of Kuku Kazami's Monster Hunter streams alongside Oga Arami and Yukoku Roberu.[17][18] She frequently collaborates with small/indie VTubers to play Monster Hunter Rise and Dead by Daylight.
She has also expressed a desire to collab with Roberu and Oga of Holostars. However the former refuses, while the latter often subjects her to cruel and unusual punishments when she loses a competition. She is also an artist and draws Shien a lot.
Fubuki and Marine have collaborated with Tomokazu Sugita as well[19]. Marine, Fubuki, Ina'nis and Calliope have held a stream dedicated to learning English too[20].
With the release of Morbius (2022), Fubuki interviewed Jared Leto himself[21]. Leto himself would compliment Fubuki[22].

Fubuki Shirakami is white haired kemomimi (animal-eared) highschool student. Although she is shy and mostly calm, she likes to talk to people. She would be very happy if you pay attention to her.

Fubuki Kurokami[]
Debut: 7 June, 2020
Originally her split personality, Fubuki "Kuro-chan" Kurokami is Fubuki's "older sister". She is the dark side of Fubuki's personality. Despite her being an antagonist, there are some times when Shirakami has slapped her. She has also mentioned that she likes Shirakami because she does her grooming for her.
Despite initially being antagonistic and cruel towards her, she has now decided to live peacefully with her.

Partnerships[]
Fubuki was one of the many Hololive talents to appear in the games Dawn of the Breakers and Azur Lane. In addition, Dengekionline announced in January of 2020 that Fubuki, alongside Sora, Roboco, Sakura, Aqua, Choco, Korone, Noel and Marine were to star in Neptunia Virtual Stars as VTuber guest characters. Her and Marine were also made temporary commanders in World of Warships, and she was available from 11 June to 30 June. On 17 February 2021, Rakugaki Kingdom's Twitter account announced that Fubuki alongside Shion, Marine, Okayu and Korone would appear in the mobile RPG game by mid March, and a week later, Fubuki was made playable in Disgaea 6 (Japanese version) as a Fox Prinny class along with Rushia, Flare, Watame and Polka. Her first voice acting role was as Monica from Little Witch Nobeta.
Her first collaboration with a rhythym game was her special appearance in Muse Dash, in order to celebrate the game's second anniversary. This collab also fetaured a special illustration featuring Fubuki and her original song "Say! Fanfare!".
The company GoodSmile announced in July 2020 that she would be getting her own figurine.
Shirakami was the host of 2020 online convention Holocomi (ホロコミ).[25]
She also appeared in the anime The Detective is Already Dead alongside Matsuri.
The Kyocera Dome Osaka stadium, on 13 August 2021, scheduled a collaboration between 12 Hololive idols including Fubuki, who were to represent the SoftBank HAWKS and collaborate with six professional Japanese baseball teams from the Pacific League, two hololive members per team. They dubbed this day "Hololive day" and released exclusive merchandise to commemorate it.
On 22 October 2021, Square Enix and Marvel scheduled a collaboration with Fubuki, alongside Subaru and Korone, to promote the Guardians Of The Galaxy game. On October 24, 2021, she announced that she had another collaboration scheduled with the creators of BanG! Dream.[26]

Fubuki's fanbase is officially called "Sukon-bu" 「すこん部」, or "Oriends". She has admitted she calls her English-speaking fans "Friends/Oriends" because she finds it embarrassing to be called their waifu.
In-jokes/memes[]
- Since she often tweets things she finds funny from the official hololive subreddit, there are jokes that Fubuki is "one of us" and is "the imposter from Among Us". This is despite her official Reddit account.
- Fubuki's love of glasses, to the point she went off a tangent about them and was visibly upset about her character designer not giving her any, has also been memed a lot.
- Since many assume Fubuki is a cat, some have come to the conclusion that she is an alien cat fox.
- Some joke that she is wanted by the FBI due to her love of lolicon. In one stream, Subaru actually got her arrested by the "Oozora Police" for it.
- Her phrases "YA-BE" and "Doko mitendayo?" are often repeated on Reddit.
- Her playthrough of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond involves around catching only shiny Pokémon; one of the most notorious challenges she experienced was shiny Magikarp, which had become a meme within her fanbase. On December 23 2021, Fubuki finally caught a shiny Magikarp after tons of failed attempts for almost a month.
- She uttered "it's red" whenever she encountered a normal Magikarp, which had sometimes been joked when the topic popped up.
- Since late June 2021, many Twitter accounts associated with hololive had applying for the Twitter verification badge. One of them was Fubuki, but her application had been rejected multiple times since her first one in July, which had become a meme among both fellow VTubers and her fanbase, and many fan art based on the topic had since been created. Fubuki finally received her verification badge on December 23, 2021, shortly after the aforementioned shiny Magikarp moment, which had been described as "Christmas miracle" or "gifts from Santa."
