Kazuhito Kosaka (Japanese: 古坂和仁 Hepburn: Kosaka Kazuhito; born: July 17, 1973 (1973-07-17) [age 51]), better known by his stage names Daimaou Kosaka (古坂大魔王 Kosaka Daimaō) and Pikotaro (ピコ太郎 Pikotarō), is a Japanese comedian, television personality and entertainer.

He is best known for his single, "PPAP (Pen Pineapple Apple Pen)," which became an internet sensation and meme in 2016.

Kosaka insists that Pikotaro is another person promoted by him, but they are considered the same person. He is currently signed with Avex Management Inc. under Avex Group.

Life[]

Kazuhito was born in Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture, Japan. He was the second son of three brothers.

Kazuhito married Hitomi Yasueda, a gravure model, on August 3, 2017. On June 17, 2018, Yasueda gave birth to their first daughter.

Trivia[]

  • During the United States President Donald Trump's Fall 2017 trip to Asia[1], Kosaka was chosen to sing at the official state reception, reportedly as Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe wanted to keep the mood upbeat .
