Eggy Liu (born: November 4, 2006 (2006-11-04)), better known online as Eggythestar (also known as StarryEggy or simply Eggy, formerly DancingFirefly), is an American YouTuber, artist, musician, and gamer. She is the founder of TALES, and owns a small business where she sells her art.

History

Eggy first joined YouTube on November 11, 2018. She had decided to create her channel because a new friend of hers had a channel that did Gachaverse, and that is what got Eggy interested. Her earliest YouTube channel was Mint2BSmart. On this channel, she posted a Gachaverse series called "The Lost Elements." This was supposed to be an original Gachaverse series. However, after posting two episodes of this series, the channel got terminated from YouTube for unknown reasons. A few days later, Eggy decided to try again at YouTube, this time making a channel called Smart Cookie. For about a month, she uploaded art-related videos onto the Smart Cookie channel. She then decided to step it up a bit and focused more on original Gacha vines. Around this time, Gacha Life was released for Apple users, so she created a new OC (Original Character) with the app's unique features. This became her first actual OC.

January 2019, Eggy decided to change her channel name to DancingFirefly. After switching channel names, she created a discord server and founded the friend group of DLSGamingSquad (later named TALES) along with former YouTubers LovepuppyMaster and ShiroTheLuckyCat :3.

January 6, Eggy hit 100 subscribers. For a 100 subscribers special, she posted a video containing her singing several songs chosen by her viewers and a reveal on her 3- year-old Yorkshire Terrier Poodle, Goldie. She continued to make gacha vines and fan arts, all the while accompanied by original songs.

February 24, 2019, Eggy posted a Trailer to possibly the longest and highest quality Gacha Movie the whole surface of YouTube had ever seen. The plan was to have animation, sound effects, original music, shaded characters, custom backgrounds, voice actors, and more all combined in a movie around 2 hours long. The script and plot were all written out, and all that was left to do was to create the film itself. She did not do this alone; she got a couple of YouTube and school friends to help her. The entire project then got terminated “till further notice” because one of the voice actors had resigned from the job, and they couldn't find a replacement.

March 31, 2019. Eggy posted the first episode of a new series called FIREWAI, a compilation of underrated, surprising, and entertaining Gacha memes, vines, intros, outros, MEPs, and Gacha Life music videos made by smaller Gachatubers in an attempt to give them more subscribers. A new FIREWAI episode was uploaded every week and many small Gachatubers gained traction from this series.

April 1, AllyssaWolf XoX (who then had around 30k subscribers), shouted Eggy out, and she instantly gained 200 subscribers overnight. To celebrate her now 500 subscriber channel, she posts a video of her singing Fight Song. This was her first-ever full cover on her channel.

May 14, 2019, Eggy passed the first significant milestone of 1,000 subscribers. To celebrate, she did a face reveal Livestream. This started a string of livestreams everyday for several hours of her just talking to her fans. no new videos were posted during this time.

August 2019. Eggy left America on vacation for a month to China. She left the channel in the hands of a trusted friend, Misha, to upload and edit FIREWAI videos while she was gone. She was scared that if her channel was inactive for a month, people would unsubscribe and never come back.

November 11, 2019, Eggy passed the 1-year mark on her channel.

March 31, 2019. She discontinued the FIREWAI series after posting an episode over 1 hour of a compilation of her old videos that she had previously taken down.

In 2020, Eggy's skill in tweening and video editing spiked as she learned how to use better editing programs. Unfortunately, due to the public's growing disdain of the Gachatuber community, Eggy quit youtube.

2 years later. Eggy has returned to youtube full swing and now makes art, music, and vlogs. She now has a small business selling her creations. She is also active on instagram everyday and is striving to go to College and Major in something related to Technology and Design. Eggy has made most of her old videos privatized on youtube. However, she has kept some public to show her progress and to embrace her old Gachatuber self.
