20th Century Studios was founded in 1935 as a result of a merge between Twentieth Century Pictures and Fox Film, which resulted in the name 20th Century Fox. The four people who founded the studio were Joseph F. Schenck, Darryl F. Zanuck, William Fox, and Spyros Skouras. Their first film was Dante's Hel. In 1994, they were owned by News Corparation Company, which was later spilt into 21st Century Fox.
In 2017, Walt Disney Studio acquired all assets to 21st Century Fox, and purchased 20th Century Fox for $52.4 billion, and changed the name into 20th Century Studios, most likely to avoid a brand confusion with, Fox Corporation.[3]
