Dion Marquise Hayes[1] (born: November 25, 1995 (1995-11-25) [age 29]),[2] better known professionally as 42 Dugg, is an American rapper known for his music and for collaborating with other rappers.[3]

Life[]

Hayes was born on November 25, 1995, and raised in Detroit, Michigan. The "42" in Hayes' name is a reference to a local Crips LC set. He was sentenced to 4 years at age 15 for carjacking, but his sentencing was later extended to 6 years after a fight with another inmate. He was then released at age 22. He met rapper Lil Baby in 2017.[4]

Career[]

Hayes released the tracks "The Streets" and "STFU", which gained popularity.[5][6] He practiced slam poetry with Lil Baby, then signing to his label 4 Pockets Full, along with rapper Yo Gotti's label called Collective Music Group.[7] Hayes received national attention after being featured on Lil Baby's track "Grace", along with the track "We Paid".[8][9]

In February 2021, a shooting occurred during rapper Roddy Ricch's video shoot, where Hayes was being featured.[10][11] The shooting left three injured,[12] and afterwards in March, rapper OMB Peezy was arrested and charged.[13][14]

Channel[]

Hayes created his channel on October 5, 2017, and he uploaded his first video on October 21, 2018.[15] He uploads music videos,[16] audio,[17] and lyric videos on his channel.[18]
