Dean Stobbart, better known online as 442oons, is an English YouTuber mostly known for his animated football parodies. He now works with Bundesliga and OneFootball English to make weekly videos on the channel.[1][2]
History[]
Dean Stobbart was originally a teacher from Norton, County Durham, he was also a part-time voice actor, along with being a professional actor starring in productions on the West End including Our House (musical) and also did some animation for his lessons. He said he saw a gap in the market that "no one had really done football cartoons before", so he used CrazyTalk to make his first animated video.[3][4]
It was a parody of Luis Suárez and former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger in a cartoon parody of a scene from The Silence of the Lambs.[5] Since then he has worked with organisations such as Talksport and SkySports on animations.[6][7] His videos have also been featured on Metro and the Spanish Marca.[8][9] Dean used to create his videos by himself in the past, but now he works with Sam Dunscombe, Mike Myler, and James Williams.[10]
In July 2017, he created a new YouTube channel called Celebri2oons. This channel was made for him to post animations about celebrities. He posted very few videos on this channel.[11]
On May 30, 2018, Online Soccer Manager (OSM) became an official 442oons mobile game. League with 442oons teams and players was added in the Special Leagues section titled "442oons Suuuuuper League". There are total of 14 teams in the league. There are also 442oons characters which don't belong to any team and they are free agents.[12]
On April 24, 2019, Dean made a new mobile game called 442oons Football Runner.[13]
The Frontmen[]
On March 8, 2020, Dean announced a new series for his channel known as “The Frontmen” (a parody on Sidemen) where 11 footballers with 2 of them being Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo do football challenges such as attempting to recreate big football moments and mostly general challenges such as Truth or dare[14] or Footballers do Tinder in real life.[15]
A lot of people assume that this was only going to be a thing for just when football was on break due to COVID as the finale happened a few days before football returned and there was a part where Dean said “The Frontmen is cancelled” at the ending of the season 1 finale[16] but the series is still active to this day with 8 seasons being made with the 4th season being known as “The Frontmen vs The Backmen”.[17]
