A.S.K. Air (born: October 23, 2005)[1] is a Canadian YouTuber who is known for his reviews on cartoons, commentaries, rankings, etc. His full name is unknown but we have seen him play with toys in his personal life in the start of his channel.[2] He is of Iranian descent.[3]
History[]
A.S.K. Air started his channel on August 28, 2016 and uploaded his first video on the same day.[citation needed] His first video was a kid channel on a McDonald's Mr. Krabs toy singing 4 different songs.[citation needed] All 4 being "Cheap Thrills - Sia ft. Sean Paul", "Hotel California - Eagles", "Hello - Adele", and "Hello - Lionel Richie". A.S.K. Air's first review was a video called "Ben 10 Reboot Rant", although it wasn't really professional as his later reviews.[citation needed] A lot of his videos don't get a lot of attention like his "SpongeBob SquarePants Review / Rant" being an example but as time goes on, his started getting more views starting from "The WORST SpongeBob Special Ever? - SpongeBob, You're Fired! (Super Reviews #30)".[4] A.S.K. Air was also known for making videos reviewing downfalls on cartoons such as Johnny Test and reviews on certain SpongeBob movies like "Sponge on the Run".[citation needed]
Content Style[]
A.S.K. Air starts most of his videos with a variation of "Hey ladies and jellyfish", a nod to the SpongeBob joke from the episode "Culture Shock".[5] This intro used to include "wumbos of all sizes" but was removed due to many people misunderstanding it. The use of words like "shalom", "ciao", and "howdy" were also used in certain videos.
His avatar personas, priorly called "AirBuds" are dressed in blue pants, a white dress shirt, brown jacket, and a red tie. He has yellow-orange skin and red glasses, sometimes sunglasses. He has been on record saying this outfit was inspired by Mr. Bean, and that the red glasses are based on glasses he owned as a kid. The yellow skin was due to Air drawing the avatars himself, initially, and not having the "peach" tone on the color palette of the software.
His videos are often comedic and hyperbolic in nature, and include references to other properties, or outside memes. He emphasizes nostalgia, especially with his "Remember What Happened to..."[6] series, which brings up references to his childhood experiences.

Air has several series on his channel that are ongoing.
He is arguably most famous for his Ben 10 Omniverse Redesigns[7] videos, where he compares the designs of the classic Ben 10 to the Omniverse remakes. He has also ranked the Ben 10 aliens from worst to best.[8] He compares Ben 10 aliens as well, one-on-one.[9]
His "DOWNFALL of" series is very occasional...Air will go through a show season by season and see how it went downhill. His most recent version of this is his review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012)[10], which many people saw as controversial. Air constantly compared the show to the 2003 show which seemed unfair to fans. Similarly, he does "Remember What Happened to..."[6] where he does a quicker retrospective look at a nostalgic show, that did not go downhill.
He also does top 10 lists[11], comparison videos[12], and his occasional series where he reviews the first episode of a show.[13] He has only made two of these videos to date.
He also runs the "On Air Podcast", which has had some popular guests including PhantomStrider, Roy Burdine, and Chuck Patton, the directors of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003).[14]
He has retired from Super Reviews and Every Episode of SpongeBob Reviewed in 10 Words or Less.[15][16]
He grew to prominence with his SpongeBob videos but blew up due to the Ben 10 content, and is best-known today for his Ben 10 videos, as well as his most popular video, the Wild Kratts video.[17]
Controversy[]
Stance on Cartoon Reboots[]
On August 26, 2024, A.S.K. Air uploaded his controversial video "Modern Cartoon Reboots are Unfaithful Trash"[18]. In the video, Air spoke about his thoughts on modern cartoon reboots and the issues he had with them. The video was critically panned across the cartoon community due to him rarely offering anything new to say that hadn't been said about many cartoon reboots (such as Teen Titans GO!, The Powerpuff Girls (2016), and so on), and for being overwhelmingly incorrect with the majority of his statements. The video itself was largely focused on criticising The Fairly Oddparents: A New Wish and saying it represented everything wrong with modern reboots, which was already the complete opposite of what the majority of people thought about the show. Specifically, he falsely claimed that the character "Hazel" was a raceswap of Timmy Turner, and proceeding to elaborate with numerous ignorant and controversial claims such as saying her race was somehow a "selling point". Along with this, he compared Hazel to many black characters in popular media (Marvel's Blade, Cyborg from Teen Titans, Gerald from Hey Arnold, and Vergil from Static Shock) and received a lot of backlash for saying he didn't see any of them as black characters (despite many of his examples such as Vergil from Static Shock having the importance of their race highlighted throughout the show) and for his stance on not seeing color. The video received immense backlash from fans of the Fairy Oddparents and content creators like Alpha Jay Show, Cartoonshi and MangaKamen (who was forced to come out of retirement from commentary), and other creators to the point of there being an entire playlist dedicated to the drama[19].
Shortly after the video was released, Air would respond to his critics on Twitter by defending his video and doubling down on his takes. This behavior was seen as highly unusual by many of Air's fans and people in the community who knew about or were friends with him, and his video in general seemed incredibly out of place compared to the rest of his content.
Weeks after the video was uploaded Air continued uploading as normal, choosing to ignore the backlash entirely.
