ALTER is an American entertainment production company that produces horror short films. It is a brand of the larger studio Gunpowder & Sky.
History and content[]
Gunpowder and Sky was founded in 2016 by digital entrepreneur Van Toffler. DUST, the first brand of Gunpowder and Sky, was formed later that year. Two years later, ALTER was born. The official ALTER YouTube channel was launched on May 21, 2018. On August 2 of that same year, they released their first short film, "The Smiling Man."
In 2023, ALTER began its anthology series "The ALTER Files."[1]

- "The Dollmaker" is ALTER's best film with over 25 million views on YouTube. Their most popular short is "Go meet the parents they say, it won’t be so bad they say… 🙄🩸🙂🔪" at over 19 million views.[2], and their most successful livestream was The ALTER Files "Zombie Bites Vol. 4" at over 50,000 views.[3]
