Artist Julius Dubose (born: December 6, 1995 (1995-12-06) [age 29]), better known professionally and online as A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, is an American rapper known for his music.[1]

Personal Life[]

Dubose was born on December 6, 1995, in New York City, New York. He was raised in the Highbridge neighborhood of the Bronx. He started rapping at age 12, and expanded his rapping during his freshman year. While growing up, he got into legal trouble, mostly for selling drugs.

His family sent him to Florida after they found out he was selling. He graduated from an academy in Fort Pierce, Florida. During his time in Florida, he was put under house arrest, and was focused on his artistry, even making a recording studio inside his apartment.

Career[]

Dubose released the single named "Temporary" in 2015 on SoundCloud. The song's producer, Myster Whyte, hired a trainer for Dubose, as his single was missing key components for a good hip-hop song.

In 2015, Dubose moved to New York to expand his career. He, along with Don Q, Quincy "QP" Acheampong, and Bubba created Highbridge the Label. He released his first project, a mixtape titled Artist. Along with Don Q, he made a collaborative project titled Highbridge the Label: The Takeover Vol.1. Dubose went on to tour with Drake and Future on their Summer Sixteen Tour.[2][3]

Dubose signed with Atlantic Records in 2016. Later that year, he released his first EP, titled TBA, which was an acronym for "The Bigger Artist". He released his debut studio album, The Bigger Artist, which featured many notable rappers. The album's lead single, "Drowning" featuring Kodak Black, peaked at number 38 on the US Billboard Hot 100.[4]

Dubose created his channel on January 7, 2016, and he uploaded his first video on February 14, 2016. He uploads music videos, audio, and lyric videos to his channel.
