Phil Moorhouse, known as A Different Bias on YouTube and PoliticsPhil on Twitch, is a YouTuber and Twitch streamer and a former science and maths teacher. He is a prominent figure in online political commentary, whose channel is dedicated primarily to discussing the implications of UK political news and current events.

Career

Before YouTube

Before making political videos, Phil had another channel where he made videos about World Of Warcraft. The channel did not gain much traffic, resulting in Phil deleting it and starting another channel.

Phil created his political themed YouTube account in 2018. He later transitioned to making his political videos full time, and passed the 100,000 subscribers mark in July 2021. Phil provides regular, in-depth analysis and commentary, often producing several videos a day, which has earned him a reputation among his viewers as a reliable source for navigating the complexities of British politics. His content is recognized for its detailed sourcing and a commitment to presenting well-researched material, even as he openly shares his own viewpoints, which are generally described as left-leaning or supportive of the Labour party.

Phil's videos are typically concise, around 15 minutes in length, and published multiple times a day, keeping his audience informed on the rapid pace of political developments. He also posts livestreams where he engages in live discussion with his audience on the political developments of the day. His livestreams are a key component of his content strategy, designed to foster real-time engagement and community interaction around his political analysis. Phil also makes YouTube Shorts that analyze and comment on recent political news and developments.

In October 2025, Phil began streaming on Twitch under the username PoliticsPhil, playing games including World of Warcraft and Middle Earth while discussing politics. He streams every Monday and Tuesday.

Personal life

Phil grew up in the city of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, but now lives in the town of Scunthorpe in Lincolnshire. His grandfather was a miner while his father worked as a rail engineer and later got his own business. Phil was the first person in his family go to university.

On 29 August 2024, Phil married his long-term girlfriend Sarah Ahearn, who is also a Labour supporter.
