Cody Daigle-Orians (born: May 20, 1976 (1976-05-20) [age 48]),[2][3] better known online as Ace Dad Advice, is an American[citation needed] YouTuber who makes videos about asexuality.

Personal life[]

Cody has a dog named Ophelia.[4] He recovered from cancer in 2010.[5] In October 2018, he planned and ran a three-day literary festival.[6]

Playwriting[]

Cody is a former playwriter and actor, and has taught high school theatre. He was an arts writer, and later an arts administrator and arts programmer.[7] Cody wrote the script for 18 Victoria, in which three siblings face the threat of an impending meteor strike,[8] and is a contributor to the book Imagining Monsters, a collection of short stories created in celebration of the 200th anniversary of the publication of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.[9]

LGBT identities[]

Cody uses he and they pronouns.[10] He grew up in South Louisiana. Cody came out as gay at the age of eighteen,[11] in 1994. For a time, he identified as bisexual.[12] He came out as asexual at the age of 42.[13] He discovered his asexuality because of the internet.[14] He has a husband,[15] and is polyamorous.[16]

Advocacy[]

Cody joined TikTok at the suggestion of his barber.[17]

He is a member of The Ace and Aro Advocacy Project, a Washington, DC-based organization providing public resources on asexuality and romanticism. An “Ace Dad Advice” inspired book will be published in January 2023.[18]

Cody is the co-host of Bearded Fruit, an LGBT podcast.[19] In 2016, it was nominated for Best LGBT podcast at the Podcast Awards.[20]
