Annie Ji[citation needed], better known online as aini, is an Australian[1] commentary YouTuber who makes video essays on East Asian society and culture.

Annie uploaded her first video on October 21, 2022, exploring China's soft power deficiency and it received widespread attention.[2]

She was inspired to create a YouTube channel after attending a Chinese Arts course in college. [3]

Annie's video topics focus either exclusively on China or are more generalized to East Asia.[citation needed] On December 27, 2022, she uploaded her first video relating to East Asia, titled East Asian beauty standards are exhausting.

She cites the video Challenging how you see bullying in East Asia in 25 minutes and East Asia is obsessed with luxury (and gen z pays the price) as some of her favorite videos she's produced.[3] She has plans to create a more lighthearted second channel in the future. [3]
