Lily Alberta "Alb" Boris, better known as just Albert Boris (sometimes referred to as Albert Boring), is a Swedish gaming and commentary YouTuber. They specialize in rankings, reviews, predictions and trailer discussions of Mario games, usually around the Mario Kart & Party series, though she does content on other topics occasionally, such as Flash games, Sierra Entertainment or other Mario game series.
History[]
Albert Boris started their channel on September 2, 2018, with the intention of becoming a Nintendo YouTuber, doing rankings and reviews of Mario-related games. However it wasn't until January 2021, when she posted her first video themed around an official Mario game, an Anti Piracy cutscene for Mario Party 9 they created, as it was during this time a lot of people made fan-made Anti Piracy cutscenes for video games. This was when Albert Boris bought their first capture card. After this, she made numerous shitposts of Mario content, from play-throughs of Mario games, to showcases of Mario Maker content they made, etc.
In May 2021, they made their first vocal and ranking video, Top 10 Mario Party DS Anti-Piracy Screens (Joey Perleoni), as a result of getting a microphone. However, it would take them another month when they made Predicting Mario Party Superstars to gain popularity, shortly after they got 100 subscribers.
From August 12th to September 24th, they took a hiatus, stating they got bored with YouTube and went on to learn other languages. As of September 24th, they returned with the release of a new trailer for Mario Party Superstars. She have later stated that this was the biggest regret in their life, as it lead to a slower journey to one thousand subscribers with less views for their new videos.
On March 6, 2022, Nathaniel Bandy's channel got hacked, and Albert Boris made a speech, honoring him[1]. A few days later, Nathaniel Bandy and Minus World reacted to this video, as part of a larger reaction of memes regarding the hijacking of Nathaniel Bandy's YouTube channel. Another video they reacted to was "I hacked Nathaniel Bandy" by the YouTuber Dangous Pig. The inside joke in Albert Boris' video was that it was their evil twin brother Bertil Auris who hacked Nathaniel Bandy, and Dangous Pig jokingly admitted himself to being Bertil Auris, he has since "Why Mario Kart DS is Kinda Bad..." portrayed Albert Boris' evil twin brother in skits as the voice actor, after the character's voice previously being Albert Boris but with a lower pitch. The in-universe explanation to this voice change is that Bertil Auris underwent a mouth surgery. To this day, Dangous Pig provides the voice for the evil brother.
They got 1,000 subscribers on June 4th, 2022, and got monetized shortly after. Succeeding this, they had been consistently uploading videos, with occasional monthly breaks. After their video "Predicting Wave 2 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC", Albert has resurfaced in popularity, usually gaining over 5,000 views per video, and eventually gaining 2,000 subscribers on November 26th, 2022. On December 18th, they founded The Plus Void, a group of semi-smaller Mario Kart/Nintendo-related YouTubers who became relevant at around the same time. So far in concept, it includes her, Swiftjar, Tricky Nick, ZakPak, RyderKartDX, Deloof Teg Orb, Shy Guy Kart, Sir Musty, Qmina and dangous pig. The name is a play on Minus World. In execution, this group exists only in her head.
Albert Boris gained notable attention in 2023, when they would come to predict three curveball courses to make an appearence in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass. Namely, DS Mario Circuit for Wave 4, and Wii Daisy Circuit and 3DS Rosalina's Ice World for Wave 6. This was also the year when their activity peaked on their channel, with views reaching over a million, her first video to get 100k views, and their subscriber count going from 2,800 up to 6,700.
Since the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass ended, they took a short break, but since January 2024, they still post between 1-3 videos per month. Their channel has slightly decreased in activity and views since. After they hoped a new Mario Party game would get announced at the June Nintendo Direct (which it did), they have since re-incorporated Mario Party as a frequent video topic, after making almost exclusively Mario Kart-related videos between 2022 to 2023. Albert Boris has 8.700 subscribers, 130 videos and 1.7 million views as of November 30th, 2024.

They range anywhere from 6 minutes to 17 minutes. There are 13 videos of this type.
Fixing... Games[]
In this series, Albert Boris takes a look at something in a Mario game, and makes their take on how to personally fix them. Initially, they had only attempted to fix every board in the first Mario Party game, the video in which was split in two, because of the quantity in boards in the game. She hadn't done any videos in this series since, until June 2024 when she made Fixing Mario Kart DS Retro Cups. There are 3 videos of this type.

Mario Maker Showcases[]
Here, Albert Boris makes videos on content they've created in Super Mario Maker 2, or content from others which they like. This series hasn't had a video since March 7, 2021, as Super Mario Maker 2 hasn't been very relevant since.

Fan Content[]
This is a playlist on Albert Boris' channel comprising of fan-made content based off of them.[3] It ranges from reactions, parody videos, to music videos dedicated to the channel. The most notable videos here are reactions by Sir Musty to Albert Boris' Booster Course Pass and Mario Kart 7 course ranking videos.
Family[]
Albert Boris' has a lot of family members, who have made appearances in her videos. According to lore, they are part of an extra-terrestrial species called Gerbalticians, who live in Green Pipe City, a locale made up of green Mario pipes above the clouds in the Earth's stratosphere.
Bertil Auris[]
Bertil "Bert" Auris is Albert Boris' evil twin brother, as explained in his first video appearence, Mario Party Superstars Trailer Discussion. He is the central antagonist of the videos, and his colour scheme is a reverse of Albert Boris. He calls his sibling Albert Boring to mock them.
He first made a short cameo in Albert Boris' reaction to Horror Land being confirmed for Mario Party Superstars. He has always tried to sabotage his more successful twin's content, going as far as stealing Albert's mouth, the Letter A (for Albert). His backstory is unknown, but it is confirmed that Albert Boris once dumped him in Bob-Omb Factory. It was initially unknown why he hates Albert so much, but they have a lot of differing opinions on games, which may explain some of the rivalry, but in Why Mario Party 9 is My Favourite One!, it was revealed that Albert Boris trapped him in his own Mario Party 9 disc "all those years ago", presumabely inside Bob-Omb Factory. It is unknown why as of now, but Bertil likely developed trauma from the incident.
Originally he was, behind the scenes, voiced by Albert Boris with a lower pitch. Starting from Why Mario Kart DS is Kinda Bad... (July 3rd, 2022), he is voiced by dangous pig, who is most known for making a video on him hijacking Nathaniel Bandy's YouTube channel. In-universe, it's also Bertil Auris who pulled the act, which makes for a coincidence. The in-universe explanation for the change in voice is that Bertil had a mouth surgery. Despite this, his voice regularly reverts back to his old at times, which is explained by him getting a cold. In some of the newer videos, he is also voiced by Stealth as a back-up voice actor.
Ci'ara Auris[]
Ci'ara Auris is the sister of Albert Boris. Unlike her brothers, she bears a blue/purple colour scheme. She first made three non-vocal cameo appeareances, in Predicting Battle Stages for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC, Predicting Wave 2 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC, and Why Mario Kart 7 is an Underrated Gem.
She was later the deuteragonist turned antagonist of Ranking Every Bowser's Castle in Mario Kart. She originally the cameraman for Albert Boris, giving suggestions to her on locations for filming. In said video, she wanted to film in a place that would suit the topic of the video. In reality, this was a cover-up for a scheme she and Bertil Auris prepared. She had purchased tickets for Tofta Beach (where Wave 2 had been announced when they were on vacation there), and the plan was for Albert to be reminded of the stress she endured, until she broke down and called the Mario Kart course Alpine Pass by its American name. The plan was botched when Albert caught them off-guard and fled.
She made another vocal appearance in Ranking Every Chapter in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, where she helps Bertil Auris take over Albert's channel using a costume of Doopliss taken from Albert's cartridge for the game. The plan once again fails, when Bertil challenges Albert to guess his name for the prize of giving them back their identity. She has a new voice in this appearance, provided by dangous pig as well.
Deltron Boris[]
Deltron Boris is the "good" brother of Albert Boris. His colour scheme is yellow and bears a mischeavous grin and high-pitched voice. His debut was in Predicting Battle Stages for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC, where he was featured in one of the skits.
His first vocal appearence was in Predicting City Track Routes for the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass, where his name and relation to Albert was revealed. Not much is known about him other than this and his true allegiance remains unknown, as he sarcastically said "he totally won't betray Albert in the future". Since then, he mostly acts as a mediator between Bertil and Albert though, when things get too heated. It is possible that the original plan for his character was used for Ci'ara instead.
Osbon Auboris[]
Osbon Auboris, better known by his internet alias Osbers Gaming, was a Patreon supporter of Albert Boris between March to August in 2023. As part of the Tier he was subscribed to, and his long-tern dedication, he was allowed to be given his own Gerbaltic avatar, taking on a blue-red colour scheme. He made a minor cameo at the start of every Albert Boris video during said timeframe, and in Predicting Wave 6 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass, he also made a vocal cameo at the very end. Since April 2024, he returned to supporting Albert Boris on Patreon, and made another vocal appearence in Ranking Every Course in Mario Kart 7 as part of a bigger collaboration.

Outro[]
Originally, Albert Boris didn't have a designated outro for their YouTube videos. Initially, the footage that was currently being shown got blurred, with two links to other videos being shown, while Albert told everyone to like and subscribe if they wanted more videos like this.
Starting from December 7th 2022 (Ranking Wave 3 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass), Albert Boris would finally come to add an outro, following the update of people supporting them on Patreon. The outro features a take-off from Frankfurt Airport with a green filter on, and the names of her current Patreon supporters sliding up before disappearing, in the style of movie credits. At the end, the text "Thanks for Watching! Bye" pops up, with Albert Boris fading to the camera once again, before the outro fades to black, ending the video. The background clip that plays for it was part of a recording they took on a flight from Frankfurt, Germany to Stockholm, Sweden, as part of a vacation he made to Sarajevo in Bosnia-Hercegovina a month prior. The song that was used was a remix of Finale from Undertale, by Qmina which was created a few weeks prior. The reason for this song choice is unknown, but it's heavily implied that Albert Boris loves the song, and wanted to shower some attention to a smaller creator.
From June 7th 2024 (Fixing Mario Kart DS Retro Cups), Albert Boris uses a new song for her outro, called GREEN PIPE CITY, by Secretary, made specifically in honour of Albert Boris. The song used is a slightly sped-up version of the theme with a higher pitch. However, the first time that the song was ever heard on the channel, was on May 8th, during the first section of Predicting the Nintendo Switch 2, this time in its normal form. Plenty of other songs by Secretary can be heard in the background of Albert Boris' videos as well.

Trivia[]
- Albert Boris' inspirations for starting a YouTube channel came from Nathaniel Bandy and Schaffrillas Productions.
- Her favourite video game of all time is Quest for Glory II: Trial by Fire.
- Her Mii takes inspiration from the Lithuanian flag's colour scheme, and the letters A (mouth) and B (glasses).
- She has globophobia, fear of balloons.
- She refuses to call Mario Kart courses by their North American English names, and will always resort to the European names (eg. Alpine Pass instead of Rock Rock Mountain). This has sparked a debate in the Mario Kart community about which track names are superior.
- She has a reputation for correctly predicting curveball tracks for the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Booster Course Pass.
- Notably DS Mario Circuit for Wave 4, and Wii Daisy Circuit and 3DS Rosalina's Ice World for Wave 6.
- Her Discord server is called Green Pipe City, which is a reference to a video game location they came up with when they were younger, and which made recurrent appeareances in their dreams. She also predicted a course with the same name to appear in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Booster Course Pass.
- They gained relevance at a similar pace to Swiftjar, another Nintendo YouTuber at around roughly the same time, and with similar video topics. Nowadays Swiftjar has a little less than twice as many subscribers and views, however.
- Their channel activity so far peaked in 2023, specifically between December 2022 and March 2023. This was during the prime of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass era, when the 3rd and 4th Waves of said DLC came out.
