Angelica, better known online as Angelicat (formerly Demoned), is an American Minecraft YouTuber. She is mostly known for her keyboard and mouse sound videos, as well as her various Facecam and in real life videos. She had reached around 30k within slightly over a year of doing YouTube, on August 8, 2019. She then received the Hypixel YouTube rank on August 15th, 2019. Not only is she known for her YouTube content, but also her Instagram, Twitter and TikTok which currently boasters over 160k followers.
History[]
Angelica originally started by posting Animal Jam fan edits and videos onto YouTube in 2014, managing to grow an impressive following considering both her age and skill levels at the time. Angelica later got tired of Animal Jam and started posting vlogs and fan-edits onto her under the new alias "Angelica Dove" which were popular among celebrity fans and editors alike on YouTube and Instagram. However, her new style of content was unpopular amongst her older viewers who favored the Animal Jam content instead. Angelica later stopped posting on the channel in 2018 after she got tired of posing vlogs as she considered them to be more of a hassle than an enjoyable hobby. The channel has since been moved to new owners, who decided rolled back the channel to it's 2016 state for archival reasons.
Angelica started her Minecraft channel in 2018 and started to encourage her friends and guild members to subscribe to her channel. Her first two uploads were videos praising the popular content creator "gamerboy80" who, at the time, was on top of the Hypixel Bedwars leaderboards. Within months she managed to grow her YouTube channel to over 500 subscribers, with most of her following praising her unique personality and characteristics.
It was just months after the start of her channel when the popular Hypixel creator NotNico discovered her channel and decided to make a collaboration video with her. Overnight after the video was published, Angelica jumped from around 550 subscribers to well over 2,000 with many new viewers sticking around to this day. Angelica's following was growing gradually, as more people discovered her content through Nico and her later collaboration with TommyInnit prior to his later success seen from when he joined DreamSMP. As time passed, Angelica's channel was now boastering over 8,000 subscribers and consistently getting over 1,000 views per video. It was around this time when Angelica's handcam video which predated the NotNico collaboration unexpectedly started gaining traction which led to many discovering Angelica for the first time via the YouTube recommendation algorithm. During the summer of 2018 after seeing immense popularity, Angelica posted a follow-up keyboard and mouse sounds video, where she played ranked Skywars on the popular Minecraft Network Hypixel. This video quickly gained traction at a rate seen by few, causing many people to see the video and subscribe to her channel. After she posted this video and another video almost just like it, she gained nearly 20,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel which was her second largest jump in YouTube subscribers.
Angelica later quickly gained traction on the popular app TikTok, appearing in multiple viral compilations on YouTube. Angelica posted TikToks frequently starting in October of 2019, but slowed down later that same year. She would later make a return to the viral video app months later, posting content semi-frequently with some videos garnering over 1,000,000 views.
On November 28, 2020, after an partial hiatus from YouTube. Angelicat posted a 1-minute long skit announcing her formal rebranding from Demoned, to her present-day alias Angelicat, a word-play combining her real name "Angelica" with "Cat". In a later video posted on Dec 2, 2020, Angelica explains her reasoning for the rebranding, explaining that the name "Demoned" had violent implications which didn't fit her evolving brand. Since then, Angelica has been posting semi-constantly to her YouTube channel with now over 60,000 subscribers.
Personal Life[]
Angelica only started playing Minecraft in 2018, meaning that she has adopted several other hobbies throughout her lifetime. She is known to play the ukulele and has taken singing lessons. She likes to listen to Indie Music, and specifically the band Radiohead. She is a single child living with her two parents as well as her cats Charlie and Star. Angelica identifies herself as bisexual and has been a vegetarian for her entire life.
