Angelika Oles (born: April 14, 2000)[citation needed] is a Polish-English YouTuber who talks about drama and makes commentary of YouTube's beauty community.[citation needed]
Personal life[]
Angelika Oles was born in Poland and then immigrated to the UK. She was a law student, but dropped out. She has a puppy[1] which is a poodle and cocker spaniel mix.[citation needed]
Content[]
Angelika initially started out talking about "cringe" YouTubers such as Girl Defined, Superwoman and Jojo Siwa.[citation needed] When she talked about[2] Gabbie Hanna and her fans being bullies, her sub count and popularity grew. From thereon, she began talking about James Charles, Tana Mongeu, Nikki Tutorials, Manny MUA, Shane Dawson and Stephanie Soo before deciding to center her channel around beauty YouTubers. She also talks about various makeup brands and reviews them.[citation needed]
Second channel[]
On her second channel she makes more personal vlogs and discusses her personal make-up preferences.[citation needed]
Controversy[]
Smokey Glow drama[]
In August 2020, Angelika was called out[3] for offensive comments she made towards disabled people. When she faced backlash, she made a public response[4] where she cut out the offensive parts of her videos. A friend of Angelika, Smokey Glow, cut ties with her over the remarks and was met with mixed reception, as some people thought that it was too far, as well as others who thought that Glow was practicing what she preaches. Angelika would then make a response video to Glow, where she exposed private dms, reddit threads, past comments and more to show Hannah's hypocrisy of calling her out, yet still staying friends with other creators who had said similarly problematic things. Hannah made a response[5] where she admitted all her mistakes, and then talked about the other problematic creators. Many people, including mutual friends of them like Rich Lux, thought that it was getting out of hand and should have been dealt with privately, as the friendship feud was overtaking the actual issue.[citation needed]
John Swan drama[]
An old tweet of Angelika's was discovered which implied[6] she was pro Brexit. Angelika deleted it but John Swan screenshotted it with the caption 'LOL'. Angelika then tweeted that it was a joke as she was literally an immigrant, her other tweets were anti Brexit, and Twitter was too toxic to understand humor. John Swan said that he screenshot it as he found it funny how she deleted it once it got famous, and he didn't care if she supported Brexit as he was not a political Youtuber. Angelika accused him of wanting to make her look "alt right" and he was spreading "false information", and that he should stop spreading rumors about her. John Swan responded by posting the "understandable, have a nice day" meme, and then posted a clip of Angelika spreading misinformation of James Charles. He also pointed out the clip was still monetized and she never took any responsibility for her actions. He would then talk[7] about Angelika on his channel. After that Angelika blocked him.
When John Swan deleted his account after it was revealed he lied about Dream and being hacked, Angelika celebrated his disappearance.[citation needed]
Without a Crystal Ball drama[]
Angelika made a video[8] on Without a Crystal Ball (WOACB), and WOACB responded by sending[9] her a cease and desist letter. She also sent Angelika threatening emails[10] threatening to deplatform her in an attempt to silence her.
Gabbie Hanna drama[]
Gabbie Hanna's book about poetry was criticized by several YouTubers such as Rachel Oates and Angelika Oles. This caused Gabbie to react poorly and call her detractors all sorts of names, and she also spread lies about Angelika[11]. In an interview with INabber, Gabbie attempted to play the victim[12], saying that she was fine with criticsm but Angelika was "spreading hate".
In late June of 2021, Angelika Oles and many other channels similar to Oles were called out by many commentary channels including Bowblax, WillyMacShow, Nicholas DeOrio and even Gabbie Hanna herself for exploiting a murder victim's death that occurred in 2019 for clicks, weaponizing it against Hanna for drama and views, and trying to twist the narrative of what really happened. The mother of the victim said that channels like Angelika were at fault for this and claimed that Gabbie deserves an apology for blowing a video where Gabbie turns herself into an egirl from an article that talks about it and briefly mentions the death of the victim and complimenting the shirt the victim wore in the photo out of proportion and was harmless instead of the mother. After that, Angelika denied adding the victim's name to the thumbnail for the video in question and since retracted it after someone pointed it out to her and tried shifting blame onto the commentary chanels, one of them being Turkey Tom for having a video on the victim and has since unlisted the video after she pointed it out, meanwhile Angelika and other channels similar has since refused to take accountability for this incident.[citation needed]
