Richard N. Hy, known online as Angry Cops, is an American YouTuber who is best known for his videos pertaining to his extensive knowledge, experience, and involvement with the United States military. He also serves as a drill sergeant for the United States military, Primarily the United States Army.

History

Angry Cops created his channel on February 15, 2017, and uploaded his first video on June 10, 2017.

He would make the first part to his Angry Drill Sergeant series on the same day, with the first episode being about him commentating on a bad beret.

Angry Drill Sergeant VS

In this series, Angry Cops portrays an angry drill sergeant who rants on people who usually show disrespect towards the army, recruits or people of higher power in the army who step out of line or changes that he thinks impact the army and the army's other divisions in a negative way.

Angry Meme Review

In this series Angry Cops reviews memes from his Subreddit, the series being similar to PewDiePie's Meme Review, usually based around memes about the United States Military or militaries around the world.

Controversies

Dislike of Selena Vargas

On Sep 30, 2019, Richard uploaded a video titled ‘The Worst Military Uniform’ with about 95% of the video consists of him ranting about his resentment of the green camouflage military uniform. However at around 7 minutes into the video, he criticized American model/adult actress ‘Selena Green Vargas’ by showing a photo of her & her (then) boyfriend due to her cheating on her (then) boyfriend who was serving/touring in the military at the time as he was completely oblivious to her lifestyle. During the video he told viewers that users in the comments would explain the context of the photo and finished by claiming she ‘Wasn’t even good at it’ hinting at her job. Due to his video, Selena deleted all of her socials and was allegedly last seen active on the internet in 2020.

Doxing situation

On September 20th, 2020; Angry Cops uploaded a video titled ‘This old Crack House Part 6 - I was DOXED!' where it is learned that the Ol’ Crackhouse that he bought and was renovating for over a year was doxxed by activists from the BLM community leaking the house’s address on Facebook & Twitter but both accounts & posts were taken down by the Angry Cops community on Facebook.

Frogan

During the height of the Frogan drama in October 2024, Angry Cops finally caught wind of it on October 19, 2024 as he made a tweet asking for fans to send him the original stream of her justification of American soldiers ‘deserving’ PTSD while asking fans to send clips of Frogan eating food as well. The following day he tweeted his quote-reply response to Frogan’s tweet where she apologized, criticizing it for "doubling down". When it came out that Frogan had deleted all of her Twitch vods late at night on October 21st, Angry Cops quote replied that ‘the internet never forgets’. On October 24th he quote replied to Mia Khalifa who made the same takes as Frogan did, which prompted Angry Cops to compare both statements and insult Mia for mocking deceased soldiers.

On Oct 26, 2024, Richard made a tweet announcing & uploaded a video titled ‘Twitch Streamer "Frogan" hates US Military’ . Throughout the video, Richard criticizes Frogan for her comments on U.S. soldiers including but not limited to her comments about ‘Soldiers deserving PTSD’, ‘Signing up solely for student loans makes soldiers horrible’ & more. However Richard continuously insulted and mocked Frogan throughout the video and having no respect for her. His final statement about Frogan was on April 17th, 2025 where he tagged iDubbbz for being friends with her whilst linking his video from October of 2024 and linked the video again under Idubbbz’s DEIDUBBBZ photo on Twitter as well.

Trivia

• His favorite stand up comedy of all time was Robin Williams - Live on Broadway, which he had memorized at the age of 14.
• Richard is a major fan of the Buffalo Bills sports team, and has attended their games many times previously.
• He’s aware of the retail store ‘Hills’ that went out of business in August of 1999 solely because he went to a few when he was a kid.
• Every year, Richard pays his respects to Major Alan R. Johnson whom died while serving in 2007.
• He liked the Lockheed Martin RQ-170 Sentinel and was confused as to why the military ended the program only after 20-30 drones were developed.
• Richard has played Crackdown 1 on an Xbox 360 in the past and enjoyed it.
• He strongly yearned the fact that video games consoles before the eighth-generation would allow you to boot up whatever games immediately, rather than having you wait hours to download then play it.
• In early March of 2024, Rich finished playing Hogwarts Legacy and enjoyed the game a lot and was addicted to playing & finishing it for 3-4 days straight. On stream he accidentally showed his search history, revealing that he watched some video playthroughs to help him beat the game.
• He’s allegedly played Star Fox 64 previously in some capacity.
• He doesn’t play many video games, though he does like linear storylines. Cops also likes various Call of Duty & God of War titles strictly on consoles respectively.
• His favorite video game of all time is either Call of Duty: Black Ops or Call of Duty: Black Ops II, but he couldn’t decide which of the two he liked more as he’s since forgotten which one had the better multiplayer map version of ‘Nuketown’.
  • If the front interior doorway of his front door was ever expanded or big, he’d want to setup a Sentry Gun on the ceiling wall for intruders or burglars.
• He also adored playing Halo 2 on the Original Xbox, one of his favorite things to do was kill ‘Grunts’ in the game. He’s also formerly played Halo 2 multiplayer on the Xbox as well including split-screen too.
• He’s never played NHL 06 and doesn’t ever intend to.
• Richard has played The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim previously.
• Angry Cops personally believes men playing video games is more of a ‘red flag’ & ‘less attractive’ compared to online trolling.
• He personally gets into video-games 3 months after their inception, and used an example for Helldivers 2 since he’s not a fan of the ‘hype train’ and he self-admittedly is aware the player base will be higher leveled then him & will ‘kick his ass’ but he’s unamused about it.
• Inside the Old Crack House he found a vintage & collectable Queen Padmé Amidala piece of merchandise for Star Wars: The Phantom Menace which he later sold on eBay.
  • The Fat Electrician joked that if Richard was a ‘true neutral’ stereotypical person in fiction then he’d essentially be ‘Watto’ from the Star Wars: The Phantom Menace rather than Qui-Gon Jinn in turn this led Rich to claim Watto was a ‘negative stereotype for jewish fans of Star Wars', which led Nic to hysterically laugh.
  • While reacting to a Ben Shapiro vs Shane clip on stream, he referenced dialogue of Obi-Wan Kenobi telling Anakin Skywalker the ‘You were the chosen one’ dialogue from Revenge of the Sith with the help of his chat.
  • On Instagram, he found a post about the character Darth Plagueis which was a meme that originated in Episode 3 by Palpatine telling Anakin about ‘The Tragedy Darth Plagueis the Wise’. This prompted him to extensively read the Wookiepedia article about the character on stream.
• On March 25, 2025; Richard started watching True Detective and got onto the third episode whilst enjoying the series so far however was shortly warned by Brandon Herrera to stop watching after the first season due to its ‘inconsistency in following seasons’.
• On December 27th, 2024; He got into an argument with an old guy who was being stubbornly dense & misogynistic towards the female receptionist.
• Richard hates the adult model/actress Bonnie Blue.
• Allegedly Richard wanted to call out the Hasan Piker orbiter Denims, as well since she was actively defending Frogan’s PTSD double down and stated the military shouldn't be a protected group on Twitch in terms of the bullying TOS but didn’t due to many other content creators doing so already. ^{[citation needed]}
