Joan (born: March 25, 1998 (1998-03-25)), better known online as anoASMR (also known as anothink, or Ano) is a Spanish YouTuber, animator, artist, director, and musician. He's known for making ASMR content on his main YouTube channel. He originally created his first channel, anothink on February 19, 2012. He makes videos both in English and Spanish.

Personal Life

Joan was born in Barcelona, Spain on March 25, 1998. When Ano was a kid, he and his father liked to watch movies together, which is what got him motivated to become a film maker. He has described himself as a shy and nonchalant kid, as he said he never liked to get into confrontations. He also went to a Christian school but he now considers himself to be an atheist. Around his teenage years, he was a goth and was obsessed with the character Ian McKinley from the Final Destination film franchise. He lost his virginity at 17 years old.

Channels

anoASMR

anoASMR is his primary YouTube channel where he uploads ASMR and relaxation videos. He first got into ASMR when he watched Gentle Whispering ASMR since 2014 but he created his channel in 2016. Many of his videos are fast or chaotic tingles, usually boiling down to one minute or ten minutes. Ano will make mouths sounds or tap on objects to give a tingling sensation. He will sometimes make animations based on other ASMR YouTubers or create his own original animations usually parodying ASMR. Ano makes other ASMR related content, such as being in public, roleplays, house tours, and mukbangs.

anothink

anothink is his first YouTube channel where it focuses on short animated parodies. It was created back in 2014 mostly based on short gags or parodies based off of media, such as Among Us, Fall Guys, Eddsworld, The Last of Us, etc. He will also occasionally make vlogs or talk about certain subjects. He has made animations for other YouTubers, including PewDiePie and ElrubiusOMG.

anoFILMS

anoFILMS is where he produces several short films or vlogs. Many of his videos are filmed in a documentary style usually simplistic or Avant Garde. They are also accompanied with music based on the feelings they invoke. While many of the videos feature his friends or family, he will sometimes appear as an actor or the cinematographer. While most of his videos are in a 16:9 aspect ratio, he will sometimes film in a 4:3 aspect ratio.

anoMUSIC

anoMUSIC (originally called deadClown) is the channel where he releases singles for his music. His music has an Avant Garde style with no or inaudible lyrics and being only around one or two minutes. He created the channel in 2012 and has produced over six albums. His music can be found on his music or ASMR channel as well as his Spotify.

Controversy

Rape Allegations

On July 10, 2019, a Twitter user accused Ano of raping an anonymous girl without their consent as well as other dirty acts. They go into detail of how on February, they and Ano's friends went into his house and had a party. They claim that he gave the girl a MDMA pill and Ano raped her. ^{[citation needed]}Many people on Twitter wanted Ano to go to court and maybe even jailed for what he did. Ano became inactive on all social media platforms for about three months, with many confused around the hiatus on who was in the right.

On October 7, 2019, Ano made several videos on Twitter debunking the allegations. He said that he and this girl meet alongside his friends. They went over to Ano's place and drank before Ano and this girl had sex with each other. Ano had stated the girl gave consent but some of his friends accused him of raping the girl. He does state that he was too drunk and fully didn't realize the girl's depression or the situation around him, which he apologizes for. He concludes by saying that he could have handled the drama better and wants to become a better person.

On the same day, he made another video on his anoASMR YouTube channel, instead talking about the decline of his content. He says that he didn't have any passion for making videos on his channels, which he filled by having sex and drinking. Ano apologizes and wishes to make content at a higher quality. Many of his fans soon forgave him and believed on his view of the story.
