Anton Retro is a Canadian Gaming Youtuber that makes content covering Homebrew for various game consoles, along with fan-games and tutorials. His channel focuses on Homebrew methods for the Wii, Wii U, DS and 3DS, alongside fan games and ROM-hacks. He is well known for his Homebrew tutorials, such as USB Loader GX, CTGP-R, and Wiimmfi. His channel was created on January 21, 2017. As of November 18th, 2024, he has created 231 videos and has amassed 67.5k subscribers.

Homebrew[]
Anton Retro is well known for his USB Loader GX tutorials[1]. He has released one every year since 2019 and each tutorial builds on top of the previous tutorial. These videos are easy for beginners to follow, but feature advanced techniques towards the end. On March 18th, 2020, Anton Retro would release a video titled How to play Triforce ARCADE Games on Wii & WII U! which explains how to run games made for arcade machines (i.e. Mario Kart Arcade GP 1&2, and F-Zero AX)[2].

Besides USB Loader GX, Anton has created many tutorials covering various Wii Homebrew applications, such as Wiimmfi[3], CTGP-R[4], RiiConnect24[5], The Open Shop Channel[6], Project+ and Super Smash Bros. Universe. He has also created tutorials on R4 cards, iPhone emulators, and more.
Fan Games and Rom Hacks[]
With each relevant Nintendo release, Anton creates videos covering major fan-games from said video game series. He has covered and talked about fan-games from various franchises, such as Kirby, Metroid, Mario Party, Mario Maker, Super Smash Bros. and Paper Mario. In addition to fan-games, Anton also covers ROM-hacks, specifically from the Super Mario series. He has covered ROM-hacks from Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. 3 and New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
Game Development[]
Anton Retro is also a game developer. He created Mario Goes to the Fridge to Get a Glass of Milk 2 during April Fools 2019[7]. He is currently working on a 2D-platformer game titled Paintra. This game has been in development for 2 years and a few videos on the project have been uploaded to the Anton Retro channel. As of November 18, 2024, the demo is "almost complete" (Anton), as stated on his official website[8].

Anton Retro has reviewed many Nintendo games, from Game Boy to Nintendo Switch. He has also reviewed the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch and many others. In his Top 10 videos, he reviews many games. Additionally, many companies have sent Anton their products for him to review over the years, such as Active Patch, EasySMX, GameSir and GRID Studio.
Collaborations[]
Anton has collaborated with Lucky Lakitu, YoExploshi and CheesyBerdi on the Luckyverse channel. He has also been a guest on Reecee's videos and livestreams. In early 2022, Anton was featured in an interview on the S Rank, a podcast series from Triple S Studios.
Anton Awesome[]
Anton Awesome was the original name for the channel. He used to focus on Minecraft: Pocket Edition content. He created mods, texture packs and Redstone tutorials on his original channel. He created 19 videos under the Anton Awesome name. His final video under the name Anton Awesome was MCPE Command Blocks, which released on April 6, 2017. On January 22, 2018, he released a video titled Super Card SD. This would be the first video under the Anton Retro name.

- Anton Retro was mentioned by the Hobo Bros., famous for making the ongoing SMG4 series. The brothers played his fan-game, titled Mario Goes to the Fridge to Get a Glass of Milk 2, on April 19, 2019, under the video title mario goes to the convenience store to contract molk.[9]
- The official download page for Mario Goes to the Fridge to Get a Glass of Milk 2 now includes a note thanking the Hobo Bros. for playing his fan-game[10].
