Apple Texts is a YouTube channel that tells stories played out in text conversations based on real-life events but dramatized.[1] The videos are 10-20 minutes long, and the text layout is modelled after Apple's iMessages app with stock footage as background. Most videos use only one voice actor, usually female to voice all characters, including male characters.
The blue texts represent the protagonist while white texts represent other characters. The videos will conclude with an epilogue which summarizes what happened to the characters at the end of the story.
The stories cover various topics such as marriage and divorce, cheating, abusive/neglectful parents, toxic in-laws, mean bosses and so on.
Apple Text is based on a YouTube channel known as 明天的LINE (originally Happy Texts), which posts similar videos in Mandarin since March 2021. Both channels are credited to "MCN Organization",[2] [3] though there is no information on the group.
History[]
Apple Texts was started on August 10, 2021. On November 11, 2023, the channel made all its videos private for unknown reasons but returned a month later with new longer videos averaging around 30-40 minutes long. Most of the privated videos have since been made public again.
Trivia[]
- The channel's thumbnails usually have the antagonist say "Huh?" at the end after the protagonist says something shocking to them and often overuse punctuation marks to emphasize drama.
