Aston Villa Football Club, also called Aston Villa, or Villa is an English sports club located in Aston, Birmingham, England.[citation needed]

Aston Villa was formed in 1874, by fifteen members at the Weslyan Chapel at Villa Cross in Lozelles. Four of the founders were Jack Hughes, Frederick Matthews, Walter Price and William Scattergood. The club won its first FA Cup in 1887. Aston Villa were one of the dozen teams that competed in the inaugural Football League in 1888, with the club's outgoing chairman William McGregorbeing the league's founder. Aston Villa emerged as the most successful English club of the Victorian era. By the end of Villa's "Golden Age" at the start of the First World War, the club had won the League Championship six times and the FA Cup five times.[citation needed]
After that, they would go on to be one of the best clubs in English Football. In the 2000's, they would be known to grow in popularity. But in the 2015-16 season, they got relegated at 20th place with only 17 points[1] For the next three seasons they would remain in the EFL Championship for the next three years until they were in the promotion play offs which they won and secured them to the premier league.[2][3]
