Dennis Lee Walton Jr (born: January 14, 1993 (1993-01-14) [age 31]),[citation needed] better known professionally as Azazus, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer.[citation needed]

Early Life[]

Azazus was born on January 14, 1993, in Mobile, Alabama. He was known to create songs and showcase the sounds at local functions throughout his childhood at Foley High School & Foley Civic Center. He was performing at events at the age 14.[citation needed]

2010 he was developing his sound, in 2016 he started releasing music under the alias Azazus, and has been touring around the state of Florida since then. He has appeared at many Anime festivals and conventions such as Anime Festival Orlando, Metrocon, and others.[1]

Career[]

He has performed at music festivals with a wide variety of musical acts including Breakthrough Award winning artist Princess Nokia, Big Freedia, and more[1]. He has developed a number of projects including: 24 singles, and contributed to over 17 featured guest appearances on albums ranging from Rap, Pop, Alternative, Anime to EDM music until now[2].

Azazus released music on TikTok and YouTube during 2020 that became notable among content creators using the app. The total TikTok streams accumulated over a million views from content creators using his sounds.[3] The artist documented many of the viral moments on the highlight section of his verified Instagram profile.[4] He was the most-nominated artist at the 1st Tri-County Florida Awards where he won an award for Best Music Video in 2021.[5]

Azazus has since been creating a wave in entertainment with a new style of music he describes as Anime-Rap with songs like: "Welcome To My Anime", "Blood Moon", and "5th Yanko".[6] In 2022 Azazus released a Dance/EDM single titled "Sponsored Girl", which is an alternate version of his most popular release "Onlyfans".[7] Shortly after, Azazus published his single "Rainy Days Won't Last" feat. Edgar Brann to the TikTok platform, and the sound received over 150+ videos created in under 24hrs (now currently 300+ videos made).[8]

As for now, he has released a music video promoting his single "Lust Island Arc" that recently achieved well over 150,000 tiktok streams since fall 2022.[9]
