BLUE OYSTER CULT is an American band.^{[citation needed]}

History[]

The band was founded in 1967.^[1] The band released their first self titled album in 1972. The band released two more albums Tyranny and Mutation and Secret Treaties. The band released their third album Agents of Fortune, the album included the bands first major hit Don't Fear the Reaper, the song appeared in the film Halloween in 1978^[2] and it also appeared in the tv show Saturday Night Live in a skit called ''More Cowbell'', the skit featured Will Ferrel as Gene the cowbell player in the song and Christopher Walken as the producer Bruce Dickenson. The sketch aired on April 8 2000, Will Ferrel came up with it after he heard the song and wondered what the guy who played the cowbell was like.^[3]^[4]

The band would release several more albums such as Spectres which features another hit of the band called ''Godzilla'', Some enhanced evening, Mirrors, Fire of Unknown Origin which featured the song Im Burning for You which became a big hit, The Revolution by Night, Club Ninja, Imaginos, Cult Classic, Workshop of Telescopes, and Curse of the Hidden Mirror.

The band would tour into the 2010s. In 2020 after 19 years they released another album called the Symbol Remains.^[5]^[6]^[7]

The channel joined YouTube on January 22 2018.^[8]^[9] The channel uploads songs from the band.
