BabyBus - Kids Songs and Cartoons is a Chinese children's YouTube channel, Brand, and Web Series that primarily focuses on educational content for children aged 10 months to 7 years old. The main mascots of the channel are Kiki and MiuMiu, the Pandas. According to BabyBus themselves, their videos teach children to think independently, build self-confidence, respect others, and explore the world. Besides YouTube, BabyBus also produces educational games for Android and iOS devices. They also created Super JoJo - Nursery Rhymes & Kids Songs, a formerly terminated YouTube Channel.

Content[]

Most of BabyBus' content consists of classic nursery rhymes, kids songs, and stories with 2D & 3D animations. Their videos teach children important topics such as learning good habits, safety knowledge, letters, colors, and numbers.

Most of their videos also consist of anthropomorphic animals including cats, hippos, dogs, and pandas as well as robots and a few anthropomorphic characters like Dudu the Bus and Mr. Fu, an Unidentified creature. BabyBus is featured in 10 different languages. (English, Chinese, Japanese, Indonesian, Korean, Russian, Arabic, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Portuguese.) [2][3]

Controversies[]

BabyBus vs. The Federal Trade Commission[]

On December 22, 2014, The United States' Federal Trade Commission sent BabyBus a letter criticizing the company for collecting precise geolocation information of its users on their apps without their consent. Since the apps are targeting children under 13, this violates the COPPA Rule.[4][5]

BabyBus was suspended from the Google Play Store until they evaluated the apps to comply with COPPA.[6]
