Backstreet Boys were an American boy band that formed in Orlando, Florida, in 1993. Their members included Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean, and Kevin Richardson. Along with *NSYNC, they were considered one of the most popular and successful boy bands not just of the 1990's, but of all time.

Kevin and Brian, both from Kentucky, began singing together as children, and later began performing at local fairs and festivals. Kevin moved to Orlando in the early 1990s, and met AJ, Howie and Nick to form Backstreet Boys, which is named after a flea market in Orlando. Kevin left the group in 2006.[1]
