Christopher Jones (born: March 31, 1986),[1] better known online as Beastmode Jones, and formerly thebeastmodetraining, is an American YouTube fitness personality and weight training instructor from Texas, United States. He is best known for uploading various training, cooking, and dieting videos on his YouTube channel.
History[]
In 2011, Chris debuted online fitness coaching. From then, he started uploading videos on bodybuilding and nutrition. He has started gaining recognition ever since, especially since 2013, even though it has come at the cost of people criticizing him for his looks and such. However, despite this, he continued to push his brand, and used his money to open up a personal training program, a clothing line, and to supplement businesses, which all worked out successfully. His YouTube channel was founded in late September 2014, and that's also where he decided to expand his brand and popularity.
Training[]
Muscles[]
He usually starts the workout with one or two heavy compounds movements, followed by a number of isolation exercises. In each of the exercises, he does at least five sets. After the workout, Chris will have at least 20 sets done. Sometimes, the number of sets he does within a workout that could be as high as 40. He personally calls this "high-volume training".
Cardio[]
He only does cardio when he wants to cut down his body fat. During bulking phases, he doesn’t do much cardio.
Chest workout[]
- Incline Bench Press, 5 sets of 8-12 reps (2 warm-up sets before moving on to working sets)
- Pec Deck Flys, 5 sets of 12 reps
- Weighted Dips, 5 sets of 8-12 reps
- Incline Chest Press Machine, 3 sets of 8-12 reps
- Incline Dumbbell Flys, 3 sets of 12 reps
- Cable Flys, 5 sets of 12, 10, 8, 6, 5 reps
Nutrition[]
His best personal way of training is high-volume training. Though, despite this, he has weight-gain periods. After training, he tends to gain as much weight as possible, without worrying of accumulating fat. Even though he claims that it works for him, he doesn't recommend this approach to others, because it might be difficult for some people to cut down the fat after training.
Supplements[]
- CLA
- L-Carnitine
- Fat Burner (when cutting)
- Creatine in capsules
- Whey Protein
- BCAAs
- Fish Oil capsules
- Multivitamin
Controversies[]
Natty or nots[]
Many other YouTube lifting channels have claimed that Chris Jones has probably used performance enhancing drugs to achieve certain physiques throughout his lifting career. People such as Vegan Gains, Jason Blaha, and others had videos over it many of which Chris responded to. He usually claimed that due to his west African ancestry, he has the genetic potential to achieve his size.[2]
Racism and drug abuse[]
In 2020, Chris Jones was called out by Greg Doucette in a video later deleted where Chris responded and said "A WHITE MAN TELLIN ME THIS ABOUT MY BEAUTIFUL BLACK PHYSIQUE" in response to Greg's criticism, where many called him out for being racist towards Greg, who's French Canadian, while appearing to grab at Xanax on his table. Scott Herman Fitness, who had previous drama with Chris, also weighed in saying he didn't think Chris was in the right state of mind. Greg would make more videos on Chris later on.[3][4]
