Belinda Marie (born: February 8, 1997)[1], better known online as Bella Poarch, is a Filipino-American social media personality and singer. She is known for her TikTok videos and her music videos.
Personal life[]
She was born in the Philippines on February 8, 1997. Her family moved to Texas, United States when she was 13.[2][3] She later moved to Hawaii and currently lives there.[4]
She served in the United States Navy from 2015 to 2020,[5] having been stationed in Japan in 2017.[6]
Controversy[]
Red Rising Sun Tattoo[]
In August–September 2020, she received backlash for her red Rising Sun tattoo, deemed racist and offensive to Koreans as a symbol of Japanese militarism and colonial rule.[7] She apologized about the tattoo through Twitter, scheduling a removal.[8]
