Michael,[3] better known as bfswifeforever or Classic Sky. is an American former YouTuber and TikTok user. He is best known as the creator of Friday Night Funkin character, Sky which has had a widespread impact on the community. Unfortunately, he has also dealt with harassment and negative attention, including fan art that has not always been respectful or appropriate. Despite these challenges, the Sky mod has been influential and has had a lasting impact on the community. The mod, however, was banned for a period of time before being reinstated on April 8th, 2022.
History[]
Michael, the creator of the YouTube channel bfswifeforever, created a TikTok account on March 28, 2021.[4] He made it clear that he intended for the account to be serious, rather than satirical. Nonetheless, he created a character called "Sky", who was inspired by the infamous 2016 Sans fangirl from the Undertale community. In doing so, Michael has established himself as a significant figure in the social media world and has been successful in capturing the attention of millions through his character creation and the lore behind it.
Around mid-2021, Michael came out as a transgender man.[5]
Content[]
Michael started his presence on TikTok under the username "bfswifeforever" on March 28, 2021. His account was created as satire and inspired by the popularity of Sans fangirls. However, Michael is not the owner or publisher of the bfswifeforever archive YouTube channel, which serves as a repository of his old content that was previously published on TikTok.
Controversy[]
Sky Mod Drama[]
The controversy surrounding the creation of Sky and its impact on the Friday Night Funkin' community led to its members harassing Michael and creating NSFW artwork of his character.[6] bbpanzu, the developer of Sky's Friday Night Funkin' mod, added fuel to the fire by making a false claim stating that Sky's character is 12 or 13 years old, which caused further confusion and misinformation. Michael confirmed that she is 19, but unfortunately, the damage was done and didn't prevent the spread of harmful artwork or the escalation of drama in the community.[7]
After receiving backlash for creating misinformation about the age of Sky, bbpanzu felt remorseful for the negative impact it had on Michael's life.[8] As a result, bbpanzu decided to take the mod down, acknowledging that it was the cause of the unnecessary drama and confusion in the community. Additionally, members of the community pleaded for people to stop making mods about Sky, and Funkipedia also made the decision not to include an article on Sky, as they didn't want to contribute to the continued spread of misinformation or the harmful fan-art associated with the character.[9]
Debunked[]
Harassment and Cyberstalking with axzellx[]
NOTE: This controversy has been debunked. It was previously thought that bfswifeforever was the person harassing Axzellx, but it turned out to be a separate person known as Mundoraroxd.[10]
After the Sky controversy, Michael rebranded his online persona to "averyxxedits," a creator who is known for creating inappropriate content using the Gacha Life app. He later targeted and harassed an innocent user named "Axzellx" (real named Axel) by impersonating their channel and creating disparaging content about them.[11]
After the Sky controversy, Michael tried to distance themselves from their past as bfswifeforever. However, an investigative video exposed their attempts to cover up their identity, including proof of their old profile picture that they had rebranded over. It was evident that Michael was, in fact, the notorious bfswifeforever.[12]
In the video "a quick update about the impersonation conflict," the individual goes by the display name of "Averyxxedits" and the username of "mundoraroxd" on their Roblox account. Their presence in the Lisa Gaming group is further evidence of their admiration for the controversial YouTuber, indicating that they are a vocal supporter of Lisa Gaming.[13]
In the video titled "impersonator update," Michael changed his Roblox avatar and display name to that of Meri the Ron fangirl from the VS. Meri mod. Despite not changing his username, he created additional alternate accounts for unknown reasons.[14]
Alt Account Raids[]
Michael has been known for cyberstalking Axzellx, in a fashion similar to the other infamous YouTuber, Smash Bandicoot. Both Michael and Smash Bandicoot have been known to employ similar tactics and allegations to cyberstalk other individuals. In particular, Michael has created alternate accounts to target Axel, as well as impersonating him. Axel has documented these instances and provided details on Michael's alternate accounts.[15]
