Chika Yoshida, (Japanese: 吉田 ちか; born: December 31, 1984),[1] better known online as Chika is a Japanese YouTuber. Since 2011, Chika has been producing videos on YouTube where she gives casual English lessons to Japanese people, and subconsciously along the years been posting videos surrounding her children Pudding and Clover.[citation needed]
With her most popular video being titled "アメリカのマックでドライブスルー英語！// Lesson at the Drive-thru 〔# 206〕" with 5.2M views, she has 1.53M subscribers and 464,576,472 views.[citation needed]
Personal life[]
Chika was born on August 12, 1999. She attended preschool and kindergarten in Tokyo, and in 1991, her family moved to the U.S. when her father was transferred. She graduated from elementary, middle and high school in the rural town of Anacortes, Washington[2]. In high school, she was a competitive swimmer, and in her sophomore year in high school, they took first place at the state meet.[citation needed]
On October 18, 2015, Chika announced that she was getting married[3] to her then boyfriend, nicknamed Mr. Monkey (おさるさん, Osarusan). In June 2018, she gave birth to a daughter[4], nicknamed Pudding (プリン, Purin). On October 19, 2021, she announced that she had given birth to a son[5], nicknamed Clover (クローバー).

Chika is well-known for her videos revolving English conversation videos. She is also known for her popular English Conversation vlog series "Japanagos".[citation needed]
Chika also owns the channel ちか友留学生活, providing 'real life information on study abroad for international students from all over the world[6]', supporting those who are interested in studying abroad, those who are preparing to study abroad, those who are currently studying abroad, and those who have returned to their home countries, etc.[citation needed]

The start of her channel[]
Chika posted her first video on her YouTube channel, Bilingirl English Conversation (バイリンガール英会話) to teach English grammar to her friend, who had asked her to look over her English resume.[7] After posting more English lessons, her channel began attracting a following, and after 1.5 years, she decided to focus on her YouTube career full-time after receiving job inquiries from several companies.[citation needed]

Bilingirl Eikawa (YouTubeとマンガでso much fun! バイリンガール英会話)[9] released in 2015, and Jinsei de Ichido wa Yattemitai America Ōdan no Tabi (人生で一度はやってみたいアメリカ横断の旅)[10], Help Me Travel: Tabi ga Hyaku-bai Tanoshiku Naru Eikawa (HELP me TRAVEL 旅が100倍楽しくなる英会話)[11], released in 2018.
On 2019, she published Wake Up! In Melbourne (WAKE UP! in メルボルン)[12] , and Wake Up! In Kuala Lumpur (ＷＡＫＥ ＵＰ ！ ｉｎ クアラルンプ−ル)[13] on 2022. All books were warmly received, having a avrage of 4.5-star rating on Amazon.

Controversies[]
Moving while Covid-19[]
Around April 2020, Chika and her family announced they were moving back to Japan from Malaysia. She was criticized for doing so in the middle of a pandemic. She would later on address the situation through Youtube and Instagram.[14]
