Botan Shishiro is a Japanese VTuber affiliated with Hololive.[1] She is part of its fifth-generation, HoloFive, along with Polka Omaru, Nene Momosuzu, Aloe Mano, and Lamy Yukihana.[2]

Botan debuted on 14 October, 2020, and her debut stream was followed by a chatting stream which also doubled as her first collaboration, with Nene and Lamy.
In her chatting streams she revealed that she likes building PCs as a hobby, assembled the PC she uses for streams and was the one who helped Kiara with her PC when she had to relocate, disassembling her PC for shipping and advising her to "protect her GPU with her life" due to an ongoing GPU shortage at the time. In general she helps her fellow idols whenever they are undergoing technological difficulties and malfunctions.
The first game she ever streamed was Fall Guys and she has also played Battlefield, Call of Duty, Mordhau, Phasmophobia, Chinese Parents, Rainbow Six Siege, Home Sweet Home, Nostalgic Train, Mario Kart , ARK, Watch Dogs, PHOGS!, Prey, Zombi, Left 4 Dead 2, APEX Legends, Titanfall 2, Trials Rising, Outriders, Ume Masume Pretty Derby, Monster Hunter Rise, Planet Coaster, TABS and the Resident Evil series.
Botan stood out with her gaming skills, as she reached Master Rank in APEX Legends (which is something only the top players of the game, aka 0.12-0.30% of its playerbase could accomplish), was a competent detective and clever imposter in Among Us, was one of the last survivors in Left 4 Dead 2 and won every single round in the Holofive collab of Super Bomberman R Online.
Her strength in gaming often leaves her targeted by her fellow players, due to fear of her defeating them. However, on the flip side, Botan is terrible at racing and fighting games. In Minecraft, for whatever reason it tends to rain a lot in her streams, which has led to some nicknaming her "Ameonna" (rain girl).
She has covered the song Will - Melty Cat on her own, though her three other covers were with her genmates, and on 14 August 2021 she released her own original song, Lioness' Pride.
Collaborations[]
Botan is part of Pekora's construction firm in Minecraft, though she also is the CEO of her own company, Shishiro Foods. While playing horror games, she will often feature Lamy and she often teases her for being easily scared.
However she will still comfort her if it is needed, and is generally very protective of her genmates, even standing up for Polka when she suspected that Aqua was setting up some kind of prank on her. When Coco left Hololive, Botan cried due to guilt of not spending more time with her.
She appeared on Marvelous' stream[3] as a guest host for a No More Heroes 3 livestream.
She has taken part in the Hololive JP/ID/EN Hololive Among Us tournament, where she excelled due to figuring out who killed who, and in general was one of the few talents who was too smart to live.

Her character designer is Tomari. Tomari also designed Roha Lee of Nijisanji KR and Sudama Chitose. She is 166cm tall. Despite being a female lion, her hair is reminiscient of that of a male's.

The Kyocera Dome Osaka stadium, on August 13 2021, scheduled a collaboration between 12 Hololive idols including Botan, who were to represent the SoftBank HAWKS and collaborate with six professional Japanese baseball teams from the Pacific League, two hololive members per team. They dubbed this day "Hololive day" and released exclusive merchandise to commemorate it.[6]
On November 28, 2022, Smile Base Cafe announced a collaboration with Gura, Ina'nis, Marine, Aqua, Botan, Suisei, Mio, Pekora, Watame, Sora, Mel and Subaru.[7] In March of 2023, Botan, Lui and Towa were sponsored by Capcom to play Exoprimal.[8]

Botan has a sister and a brother.[9][10] She has mentioned that most of her family members are deceased. When her father was alive, he accidentally backed his car into her twice, which could have killed her as she was against a garage wall. He also has ran over her foot.[11]
