Braso (born: September 27, 2006 (2006-09-27) [age 18][2]) is a Latvian former YouTuber who uploaded gaming/commentary videos about various subjects, but primarily about Andrew Tate.

Content[]

Braso uploads commentary videos that primarily talk about Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan. He used to make videos about MrBeast, the Minecraft YouTube community (including YouTubers such as Dream, Technoblade, and BadBoyHalo), and particular fans of said community. He has a second channel called BrasoXD, which is reserved for his Minecraft challenge videos, most of them being Minecraft Manhunt-inspired videos.

History[]

Braso created his main channel on February 26, 2020, and his second channel on July 11, 2021. He started reuploading VODS from Dream SMP YouTubers and Twitch streamers such as BadBoyHalo on his channel, which gave him some traction. His second channel, BrasoXD, has been renamed to DNG News. His channel was terminated on November 23, 2023, due to multiple third-parity copyright claims, also known as copyright infringement.

Controversy[]

Feud with Jalyn[]

On November 17, 2021, another commentary YouTuber named Jalyn uploaded a video titled "The WORST Commentary Channel...", in which she accused Braso of uploading clickbait videos, milking Technoblade's cancer diagnosis. In the video, she states that Braso milked the topic of Technoblade's diagnosis by keeping all of the revenue he earned from the situation, to the point where he even earned triple the amount of money that a commentary YouTuber known as Tired Cast (who has gone into analytics about his revenue) has.

Jalyn also added that she disliked the fact that Braso had made a short video commentating about Dream jokingly quitting Minecraft, and milking the topic of BadBoyHalo's grooming accusations a few weeks prior.

Braso later responded to Jalyn, saying she has also uploaded videos that have clickbait about That Vegan Teacher killing Dhar Mann[3], pointing out how many of Jalyn's viewers could believe that it was true. He also claims that Jalyn has been hating religion for months, although she later responded that she no longer does.[4]

Stealing content[]

In 2021, SixStriker made a now-deleted video about the Minecraft chat report system titled "This Could RUIN Minecraft Forever...". A couple of days later, Braso would upload "This Ruined Minecraft Forever...". SixStriker would accuse Braso of stealing content after seeing overwhelmingly similar resemblences to him and Braso's video. The thumbnail's format was the same, the title was changed to be past-tensed, all screenshots from SixStriker's video were used in Braso's video, including the comments SixStriker selected, with the same number of likes from both videos. Braso fought this accusation claiming that the comments he selected were from top comments from Pheonix SC's video. However, the documentary channel CalebIsSalty disproved this as the comments were very low in the comment section.

People also refer to his old videos, primarily his most popular video titled, "Dream and BadBoyHalo ESCAPE Prison! (Dream SMP)" which is an unedited clip from BadBoyHalo's Twitch vods.

Milking Technoblade's death[]

In mid-2021, Technoblade announced that he was diagnosed with sarcoma cancer. Braso took this information and milked it with multiple videos in a row about his diagnosis. The topics that Braso discussed are about very minor updates about Technoblade, talking about the haters making fun of his diagnosis, or statements made by other popular creators regarding Technoblade. Jalyn would make a video calling Braso out on the videos.

In July 2022, Braso was called out by many YouTubers for uploading multiple videos about Technoblade's death, some of his videos gaining between 200,000 and 1 million views. Braso was also called out for not putting a fundraiser on his videos, despite saying he would do so. In his response video, he said that he would stop posting videos that mention Technoblade's death and added that he would make a video in the future of him actually donating money to charity.[5]

Braso later claimed he donated to the Sarcoma Foundation of America, which was mostly met with negative reception, and his comments about using the money to help his family had been faced with skepticism.[6] Commentary YouTuber SixStriker later found out that his donation was completely faked by using DevTools.[7] On July 6, 2022, Braso removed all of his videos relating to Technoblade, and uploaded a later-privated video titled "Taking Accountability", with comments disabled in his video. He was also confronted on an interview by Acheeto.[8]

Braso had not uploaded any more videos relating to Technoblade afterwards, and proceeded to ignore the drama and creating content like nothing happened. However, many people would still call him out for his wrongdoings in the comments of his videos, saying he should have taken a break and done a better job at owning up to his mistakes.

Termination[]

On November 23, 2023, Braso's main channel was terminated for multiple third-party claims of copyright infringement.[9] On June 5 2024, his second channel was terminated for a violation of YouTube's Terms of Service.
