Brendan Christopher Barney (born: September 10, 2000 (2000-09-10)) is an American^{[citation needed]} YouTuber and former GoAnimator who made grounded videos out of Tracey, Garrick and Fred, among others. He's also a big fan of Thomas the Tank Engine and Teletubbies as seen in a handful of his videos. Besides making grounded videos, he also makes YouTube Poops, reaction videos, VHS updates, and occasional Q&As too.^{[citation needed]}

He also made a series called The AGK Show! in 2015 and reuploaded lots of NitroG's videos.^{[citation needed]}

History

Brendan first joined YouTube on Christmas 2011, where he mostly made Annoying Orange videos. One day, Brendan got the idea of making GoAnimate videos for YouTube after seeing RocketPowerGal24 (then-known as Kristin Konkle)'s videos on Eric gets grounded and decided to try the website out for himself. Not too long after his GoAnimate career began, he accidentally deleted his first account. He then made another account called BrendantheAnimationGuy, but took it down after a short while.

Finally, on October 4, 2013, he made another new channel under the name, Brendan Barney, where he uploaded his first YouTube video three days later titled "Eric gets a math problem correctly and gets expelled". Ever since then, he's been getting lots of recognition in terms of his content. On March 1, 2019, he surpassed 100,000 subscribers, making him the fourth known GoAnimator to do so, behind Redmau, Cewyah, Matt The Vyonder, and RareYellowWUUTBee. He would continue to do GoAnimate videos for the next few years.

On November 30, 2022, he announced his retirement from GoAnimate/Vyond, citing his burnout from the website, as well as him being busy with college and work preventing him from making videos.In recent years, Brendan has been seen to be more active on DeviantArt than YouTube, citing that his passion for making art is more stronger than making videos.^{[citation needed]}

Despite the success of the channel, the channel has garnered some controversies over the years

Racism Accusation

On November 8, 2014, Brendan uploaded a rant on the Australian band The Wiggles. At the beginning in the "More like" portion, he says: "The Wiggles? More like The W***ers", or The N***ers, or whatever the hell you want to call them."

In June 2020, with the Black Lives Matter movement, Brendan gained a lot of flack by some users for his poor choice of words. On June 28, Brendan uploaded a video titled "Some Bullshit That Needs To Be Explained", where he describes that he made the rant six years ago (when the video was uploaded) and didn't know any better back then due to the popularity of the "GoAnimate-Styled Rant" trend, and called out people who brought up his past and seeing as if those views still reflected on him present day.
