20th century[]
CBS News was founded on September 18, 1927 by William S. Paley.[1]
CBS News started off in 1929 as a regular news broadcast channel and radio network. In 1932, CBS News gained recognition when reporting on the Lindbergh kidnapping, using on-air feed. Multiple people who work for CBS started to hire people for anchors and editors.
It became more notable on television during the Pearl Harbor bombing. Years later, CBS News would begin to make secondary broadcast channels, including CBS Evening News, CBS This Morning, etc.
21st century[]
In 2020, CBS News merges with Viacom, forming ViacomCBS.[2]
Channel[]
The channel was created on September 27, 2006, and the first video was uploaded hours later.[3] The channel uploads clips and footage from their news channel, which include interviews, breaking news, etc.
