Cameron Manning (Born: February 22, 2004 (2004-02-22) [age 20]), [citation needed] better known online as camman18 (or simply Camman), is an American YouTuber who makes commentary videos about rare items or topics and challenges revolving around the game Minecraft. He gained popularity from YouTube Shorts.

History[]

Camman created his channel on April 3, 2021, and uploaded his first video on April 26, 2021. When he first uploaded, he became popular since the videos are formatted as YouTube Shorts, causing him to gain tons of subscribers. Camman also has a secret channel called "camman18 secret". [1]He uploads his Twitch broadcasts on his channel "Camman18 VODS".

He exclusively streams on Twitch weekly, mainly playing Minecraft. He usually streams himself playing Hypixel’s Bedwars, speedrunning an item chosen by the infamous "wheel", or doing Minecraft challenges. He has also been live streaming longer than he has been posting on YouTube and has a much different personality when livestreaming.

  • When reading comments on his videos or shorts, he turns the "public subscribers" setting on so that he only sees comments by people who not only subscribed to him, but have public subscribers enabled.
  • In 2022, there was a joke on his channel that his name is "canman18" instead of camman18, mostly with credits going to PrestonPlayz.
  • He sometimes utters his phrase “Oh, my!” or “Oh, God…” in his “Minecraft but” videos.
  • In most of his videos, he begs people to subscribe to his channel and his VODS channel.
  • He mostly uses Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green - Lavender Town theme in his theory/mystery/Minecraft history videos and "What's the rarest/most overpowered/weirdest/best [topic] in Minecraft" videos. Meanwhile in other videos he uses the New Donk City main theme from Super Mario Odyssey.
  • He uses Super Bell Hill theme from Super Mario 3D World in his camman18 Q&A Monthly Bonanza videos.
  • In his "Minecraft but" videos, he uses Animal Crossing City Folk theme.
  • He uses Dream speedrun theme whenever he speedruns a random item.
  • He is a parkour and a speed-bridge professional, at least according to himself.
  • There is a "friendly" online rivalry between him and PrestonPlayz, whom Camman says that his real name is "Eugene" that took place on March 3 to March 28, 2022.
    • They ended their rivalry after Camman won from the parkour duel finale of him and Preston that was both live streamed on their YouTube and Twitch channels, where Preston had to drop the Canman part of his name.
      • Preston later accused him of cheating in the parkour.
  • In his "Minecraft, but ---" videos, he often ends the video yelling "YEAAHHHH!!!" or "YESSSS" when he completes his goal and "NNOOOOOOO!!!" when he fails, or screams "AAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!" when he either succeeds or fails.
  • He calls the Iron Golem "Big Guy". The name originated from his video "Minecraft, But I Can't Use The Letter O".
  • He often makes video about the rarest stuff on Minecraft.
  • In a livestream, he explained that his username comes from his name "Cameron Manning" and the number 18 comes from his favorite football player Peyton Manning who wears number 18.
  • He frequently nags about minecarts being so slow and includes minecarts in almost all of his videos. He also posted a video about Mojang possibly making minecarts faster.
    • On August 16, 2024, Camman uploaded his first long form video in months called "they did it" explaining the new Minecraft update that set a "max minecart speed" game rule, which inevitably makes minecarts faster.[2]
  • He really hates Birch wood and often calls them "not real wood" because he doesn't like the texture/color of birch trees. However, he doesn't mind Stripped Birch Logs and Birch Trapdoors.
    • Despite his disliking to Birch Logs, he mined two stacks of them to break Preston's record of most wood obtained in the first 3 minutes of spawning.[3]
  • In his description he also included "BEEFING PRESTONPLAYZ", referring to the rivalry and videos he posted about the Youtuber PrestonPlayz.
  • There's a lot of comment bots and like beggars on his channel.
    • The comment bots on his channel are the same ones in Sambucha's comments sections.
  • He claims to be 6'7" but no evidence has been shown of such.
  • He once made a short about 'imposterman18' which shows off his fake Minecraft skin created with over 800 people downloading it.
    • This can be easily told by seeing the 'Hi' on his MC skin, the word 'Hi' on his skin is supposed to be small while usually his fake minecraft skin has a very big 'Hi'
  • He has made a short called "don't test me lil bro" talking about the fact that the dirt block's texture has changed, proving a commenter wrong going by the handle of @takiallahjamai, implying he reads his comment section
    • The same commenter has commented on the short with the phrase "8 pixels killed me holy sh-", however, the comment has gained 2.1K likes while not reaching the top.
  • He once uploaded a video titled "phone at 8% pls hurry upload" which explains about the upcoming Armadillo and Wolf armor.[4]
    • He made the video by drawing the sketches with crayons on a piece of paper, recording with his phone and editing it with iMovie due to experiencing a black out.
  • He is sometimes mistaken for Asian, but he is actually 90% English, 10% Scandinavian, and a small percentage of northern Indian.
  • In his channel's description, he "teaches" everyone to pronounce his name, which he says: "name pronounced: "cam-man-eighteen" " This is probably a reference to the 2022 joke where people thought his name was "your mom". It could also relate to when people thought his name was "canman18".
