Cameron Bertuzzi, better known online as Capturing Christianity, (born March 16)[2] is an American Christian apologist.[citation needed]

Personal life[]

Cameron married his wife, Brittany, in January 2011.[3] He has two children.[4] He has a brother, who is an atheist.[5]

He suffers from panic attacks and anxiety.[6] Cameron can play the guitar.[7]

Views[]

Cameron was raised as a Protestant Christian,[8] and is non-denominational.[9]

In 2022, he considered converting to Catholicism.[10]

He leads towards accepting evolution, but is unsure if divine intervention was involved.[11] His views on the LGBT community are undecided.[12]

YouTube[]

Cameron is a photographer, and "Capturing" refers to this.[13] In October 2019, he became a full-time apologist after losing his previous job.[14]

Controversy[]

In April 2020, Genetically Modified Skeptic said that Cameron "purposely says inflammatory anti-atheist nonsense" to anger atheists for attention on Twitter.[15] Cameron responded that atheists took his tweets more seriously than he did.[16]

Death of Russ Jones[]

In June 2021, Russ Jones, a financial supporter of Capturing Christianity, died suddenly. A few weeks later, Cameron made a Facebook post asking fans for donations, or to double their existing contributions, as "a way of honoring Russ." Atheist YouTubers such as Digital Gnosis and DallasWade found the post insensitive.[17][18] Theoretical Bullshit thought that "the phrasing could have been more sensitive," but said that he did not "see [an] egregious moral failure."[19] Cameron took the post down and apologised. The previous day, he had consulted board members on how to communicate the news.[20]

  18. I had to go to Facebook to see if this was actually real - because it’s literally that unbelievably trashy - and it is. @CapturingChrist ACTUALLY used the death of someone to guilt people into giving him money OR doubling what they already give him.
