Charl Davies (born August 6, 1992)[1] is a Welsh[citation needed] autistic[citation needed] YouTuber, best known for being on Just Tattoo of Us.[citation needed]
Personal life[]
Charl is from South Wales. Before opening her tattoo studio, Charl worked as a cleaner, but found it overwhelming.[2] She has a degree in illustration.[citation needed]
Autism[]
For much of her life, Charl’s “behavioural issues” were attributed to the death of her father when she was ten. She suffered a breakdown at the age of nineteen, and suggested autism to a doctor. She was dismissed because she “was able to look at him when he spoke to [her].”[3]
When she first began her job on Just Tattoo of Us, Charl cried “most days while filming the first season,” and “physically couldn’t speak for hours at a time.” One evening, she went out for a meal with some of the cast members, and suffered a “huge meltdown.” Charl “stopped saying yes to joining in on any social activities,” and was diagnosed with autism at the age of twenty-five, after MTV put her in touch with a psychologist.[4]
Charl has described autism as “a gift that hasn't come without the intense emotional dysregulation and daily struggle overcoming obstacles and processing the world around [her], but it has made [her] the artist [she is].”[5]
Endometriosis[]
Charl raises awareness for Endometriosis, which she began to suffer from at the age of ten. She suffered blackouts and was hospitalised from the pain, which doctors dismissed as her period. She was diagnosed around the age of twenty-eight. In February 2021, she publicly supported menstrual wellbeing being taught in schools.[6][7]
Tattoos[]
Charl is a black and grey tattoo artist, who is best known for being on the MTV reality show Just Tattoo of Us. She was inspired to be a tattoo artist at the age of sixteen.[8]

It cannot be cured.
And of given the choice I WOULD NOT cure it. 🌟
Without autism I would be an empty vessel just left with all the boring parts of me just for the sake of fitting in to societal expectations and convenience. And we wouldn't want that would we!!
.
Autism is a gift in my eyes. A gift that hasn't come without the intense emotional dysregulation and daily struggle overcoming obstacles and processing the world around me, but it has made me the artist I am. It has made me the expressive and hardworking individual that I am. I am not an accurate representation of a stereotypical perception of autism because a visual representation for autism does not exist. We are all different. No two people on the spectrum are the same.
.
Autism does not have a specific 'look'...anyone can be autistic.
.
A hidden disability.
.
It may come with difficulty but I have always been a go-getter and I will continue to raise awareness to help others. It is there to motivate me with ambition and determination. .
We will stamp out this gender issue.
