Chizi Duru (born November 11, 1995)[1] is an American[citation needed] YouTuber who makes vlogs.
Personal life[]
Chizi’s family is Nigerian.[2] She has six names.[3]
She has a Bachelor’s of Science in biology.[4] She originally wanted to be a doctor, did not enjoy the hospital setting. Chizi minored in communications.[5]

When Chizi was twelve years old, her father convinced her to cut her hair off after she complained about it being “dry, brittle, [and] relaxed.” This experience sparked her interest in natural textured hair, and ultimately led to her decision to “go natural” and document her journey on YouTube a few years later.[6] She became a full time YouTuber after graduating from college in 2017.[7]
In late 2021, Chizi launched a clothing line.[8]
Afro Brunch[]
In May 2018, Chizi announced The Afro Brunch event. It was held in New York City, on June 16, 2018, and included music, insider industry tips and a live hair demonstration.[9] A second event was held in November 2019.[10]

If you’ve been around long enough, then you know my story but if you’re new, let me give you the rundown!
✨I graduated college with a B.S. in biology (Magna Cum Laude ☺️)
✨I always thought I wanted to be a doctor (OB/Gyn specifically) but every time I was in a hospital setting, I did NOT enjoy myself 😩😂
✨By junior year, I felt more called to communications/business (almost switched majors but it would keep me in school another year so I got a comm minor instead)
What helped me make the switch?
✨By the time I graduated, I already had a decent following (so I knew I was doing something)
✨I used the regret minimization framework (google it!)
✨I figured I could always go back to school, but I would have extreme regret if I didn’t explore THIS path.
Was it easy? NO.
I was HELLA scared. And for the first 2 years after college, I still kept going back & forth w/ my decision.
But I talked to ALOT of people in both fields, prayed ALOT, journaled, made a One-year plan, looked at the signs, and took the leap!
