Hey guys, ChrisFix here...

―ChrisFix's intro

Christopher Magello, better known online as ChrisFix, is an American Automotive YouTuber known for creating step-by-step videos on various car repairs and upgrades. In July 2021, ChrisFix became the largest automotive channel on Youtube. His videos are known for being simple, yet detailed.

History[]

ChrisFix joined youtube in 2008, but started posting videos in 2010. It took ChrisFix 7 years to hit 1 Million subscribers, but just 4 years later, Chris had over 8 million subscribers.

Vehicles[]

Chris owns a large number of cars. these include:

  • 1996 Chevrolet Corvette LT1 Z51: The very first car to be featured in ChrisFix's first video. ChrisFix won various of trophies at car shows for best paint, after he supercleaned his own car.[1]
  • 2001 Mazda B3000 Cab Plus
  • 1998 Ford Mustang GT: This car is known as the “Driftstang”, and is used as a drift car. It was won at an auction and had a bad fuel pump when it was delivered. The viewers answered a poll of which car to buy for the project, and the top 3 were the Mustang, Mazda RX-7, and a BMW (probably either an E36 or E46), and he got the Mustang as finding a cheap RX-7 or BMW proved difficult.(also he has a supercharger for it but has not installed it yet)
  • 1993 Honda Del Sol: A car that originally had a bad head gasket, which was bought for only $300.(and has yet to turbo, fans will know this)
  • 1996 AM General Hummer H1: This was his “dream car” that he wanted as a kid. The original owner swapped the original engine with a faster and more reliable Duramax engine, as the H1 was notoriously slow due to its large size and underpowered engine.
  • 2004 BMW 330XI: This is an endurance car originally brought for the 24 Hours of Lemons. In this endurance race, the required budget is $500 and any car over that budget will have 1 penalty lap for every 10 dollars over. However, this budget only counts performance features, and parts can be sold to even it out. This generation 3-series (the E46 which was built from 1999 to 2007), is known for its appeal in project car culture. In his first race, the engine failed due to a spun bearing caused by a lack of oil pressure, causing Chris to swap in a junkyard engine from an X3 and eventually miss the remainder of the race. He made a goal to never let that happen again with the help of Jamie from Elite Motor Works, which specializes in BMWs. The car was originally going to be a Mercedes-Benz CLK 430, but the car would not start due to the batteries being crossed. The car was flooded, and after diagnosing the problem, it was confirmed that the car was broken beyond repair due to it needing computer modules; installing these modules requires Mercedes-Benz to code them. Therefore, the Mercedes was sold to a scrapyard for $400 and replaced by the BMW.

Personal life[]

Although little is known about ChrisFix, he has a hobby of fishing and fixing boats and of course, fixing cars. In his early life, he went to culinary school, and is also known to be a marine biologist. Seeing his face is rare in his videos and even if he shows it, he covers his first half with a neck gaiter, or using a racing helmet, akin to Stig. When his face is shown, he likes to do it humorously such as the collab with Saabkyle04 or from other pictures such as a video of him buying his dream Hummer.[2]

Quotes[]

  • "Hey guys, ChrisFix here!" (His intro)
  • "Out with the old, and in with the new." (when replacing parts)
  • "And that's not going anywhere!" (when confirming that the part installed is not easily taken off) (and you have to say it or else it go anywhere and everywhere)
