Chris Bores (born in 1978 [age 42]) better known online as The Irate Gamer and Chris Neo, (originally CHRIS-TUBE), is an American gaming YouTuber. He makes very similar videos to The Angry Video Game Nerd, meaning that every review Chris has posted that the AVGN has posted, he has posted it later. Many fans deem this as "copying" the AVGN, which has created much controversy among fans. On July 20, 2016, Chris announced on his facebook page that he will retire the Irate Gamer Show considering Season 5 will be his last. Though on March 30, 2018, Chris announced that he will return and rebrand his series under the name CHRIS-TUBE which will later renamed it to CHRIS-NEO.

On August 30, 2019, Chris launched his radio podcast video known as GEEKTIME.

On May 12, 2020, Chris announced his return to the Irate Gamer Show.

Chris also runs two YouTube channels like as Puppet Steve and The Ghost Doctor.

Style

The Irate Gamer is a video game review series. The titular Gamer is a foul-mouthed video game fanatic.

As Chris NEO, Chris began changing his style of review dropping his angry foul-mouthed manner into a more calm and relaxing manner to distance himself from James Rolfe. He also began sporting a neon rave sunglasses and starts naming himself and his series Chris NEO (A combination of his real name and his former modern gaming Irate Gamer show "Irate Gamer NEO).

Controversy

Despite usually receiving more likes than dislikes, the show has received a negative response from many fans (of very well-respected/popular YouTubers such as The Angry Video Game Nerd) and IMDb critics who claim that Bores plagiarized James Rolfe's style. However, James Rolfe says that anyone who is called a rip-off of the AVGN is not a rip-off.

People also have posted videos of the Irate Gamer private messaging them rude messages in return to simple conversation that doesn't appear to be of rude intention. This topic has been covered, and Chris Exposed, by TheArchfiend, and utuber337.

It's debated whether or not the Irate Gamer said these things, but there is evidence against him that provoke thought.

In April 21, 2018 During his return as Chris NEO, CommonNonsenseMedia's "Opening Up An Irate Gamer Documentary" video was received a false copyright by Chris Bores.[1][2] Some fans were frustrated proving that Chris still hasn't changed. Despite this, fans started giving him a mixed reaction unlike his Irate Gamer Show.

2020 return and collaboration with Angry Video Game Nerd

As of 2020, Chris finally made good terms with James Rolfe as they made a collaboration video with him in his Puppet Steve channel titled Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition Tabletop Arcade & Boardwalk Arcade Cabinet Unboxing , thus gaining respect from his fans. He also starts mentioning the Angry Video Game Nerd in his returning Irate Gamer Show as well as putting "Inspired by AVGN" in his intro. In June 30, 2020, Chris posted a trailer of his upcoming Dick Tracy review with the Angry Video Game Nerd for the first time will make a guest appearance to his show.
