Benjamin Dreyer Vestergård (born: December 12, 1994 (1994-12-12) [age 29]), better known online as Crainer (formerly MrCrainer, Crainer Commentates and MrCrazieGamer) is a Danish English-speaking gaming YouTuber. Currently, he usually plays Minecraft and uploads a video almost every day.

Personal life[]

Benjamin was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on December 12, 1994. He has an elder sister. He also has two pets, cat Melvin and dog Bobby. He was into gaming since he was kid and he quit school and started gaming. In 2019, Benjamin got married to Thea.

Twitch career[]

In 2011, Benjamin started to stream on a Twitch. Later on, MrCrainer contacted Lanceypooh who was a relatively large Twitch streamer at the time. Crainer rose to fame and he used to stream a lot with Lancey. In 2013, Lancey switched to YouTube and both left recording.

YouTube Career[]

(2011)[]

Crainer's 1st ever channel was created on January 26, 2011, called MrCrainer (deleted) where he would usually play Minecraft videos. His 1st ever gameplay video, was a playthrough of Super Meat Boy which was published sometime in February 2011. Other games he would play on this channel were Magika and Diablo.

Early career with Lanceypooh (2014)[]

On 22 February 2014, Crainer created his current YouTube channel. In the early stages of Crainer's YouTube career, he reunited with Lanceypooh. The duo used to record Minecraft videos and then RippedRick joined them. Later on trio was named Rascals. Later on, Crainer just left the group.

In 2020, Lanceypooh uploaded a video where he told what Crainer had done to him during the time of their recording. However, In January 2021, Lancey's Crainer video was set to private. Lancey posted on Twitter saying Crainer to have a talk with him when he's not busy. The pair eventually reconciled and talked through their troubles.

Recording with SSundee (2014-2019)[]

In August 2014 SSundee, who had 3 million subscribers at the time, recorded with a relatively small YouTuber who had only 30,000 subscribers Crainer. They started a Minecraft series "SkyFactory". The pair recorded together for the better part of 4 years. They both were collectively known as "Crundee". After recording with SSundee, Crainer reached 1 million subscribers on YouTube. In the last months of 2019, Crainer left recording with SSundee due to huge time zone difference.

Recording with Jelly and Slogo (2019-2022)[]

In September 2019, Crainer found out about Slogoman after his ex-recording-partner SSundeecollabed with him in a gaming video. After a while Crainer eventually collaborated with Slogo in a Golf It gameplay video. Crainer and Slogo then recorded more videos together and eventually became great friends. Later on, Crainer also collabed with Jelly and they became friends. In January 2020, Crainer met Jelly. The trio started many series and became a well-known trio in 2020. In May 2022, both Jelly and Slogo have removed Crainer's YouTube link in the description, implying that Crainer might have stopped recording with them. And on June 18th, 2022, Crainer removed Jelly and Slogo's links in his description, confirming that he is offically not recording with them anymore. On September 3rd, 2022, Crainer made a community post of why he isn't recording with Jelly and Slogo, the community post reads as the following below.

Too many theories out there about why I’m not recording with the guys anymore, and I thought (although I always like to keep private) why not just address it so people don’t get the wrong idea. Jelly and Josh are great people, and I wish them the best.

Last year and also somewhat into 2022 was the toughest time I’ve gone through. I lost my dad, came out of a long relationship with my ex-wife around the same time too. As most of you know, this resulted in me not recording for weeks / a month at a time, the guys were very understanding and sweet, however.

No drama happened, I didn’t use them to garner attention and then leave, and for people saying I just used them for views, wouldn’t it have made a lot more sense to stay recording with two of the biggest creators on the platform?

I think so. - another point to make is that whenever I record with other YouTubers, it’s not just me that gains. I provided a ton of Minecraft ideas, developers and overall help on getting them into the game. We also equally benefited from it all, seeing as we were fun to watch together.

We all grew from it, not just me. I’ve been doing YouTube since 2014, and I’ve always felt like a “sidekick” to the bigger friends and YouTubers I was recording with. I wanted a change, and I wanted to do my own thing for once. Anyway, I’m super excited for everything we are doing at the moment, and thank you for your continued support.

I will try to be more transparent when big things happen from now on. Life is great now though, and I recently got diagnosed after 27 years of going through life without medical help, with ADHD - I think things are better than ever, and I hope you guys are doing great too :)

Love you all!

―Crainer

Returned to record with Jelly and Slogo again (2023)[]

After resolving personal life issues, on October 20th, 2023, Crainer published a video titled 'I need your help', urging his subscribers to massage spam Jelly and Slogo’s social media accounts to tell them to bring back Crainer to Robust. With the video gaining several times more views than the average upload on his channel, the operation was successful, and the #wewantcrainerback movement was born. Tens of thousands of comments on their uploads were flooded with these comments, ultimately making the two respond with their own videos before the one-week deadline stating their views on the topic. Jelly was a lot more open to Crainer’s return, and as of October 28, with a new music video dedicated to his wishes of Crainer returning, Jelly has very likely accepted Crainer’s request. Slogo, despite being more hesitant and less open to Crainer’s return, hasn’t fully decided whether to accept or reject Crainer’s return as of October 28.

On November 1, Slogo uploaded a video on his final verdict on whether Crainer would return to recording videos with them or not. Slogo decided that Crainer will return and restart Robust as a trio at an unspecified date not long from the upload date.

As of November 8, Crainer is back to recording with Slogo and Jelly as a trio again.

Recording with Slogo (2024)[]

On August 17, 2024, Jelly/Slogo made a video and community post saying that Jelly had left the group and that Slogo and Crainer would still continue to record together.
