Crazytrain525 is an American YouTube channel well-known for featuring G-Scale model trains crashing or being destroyed in one form or another.
Content[]
Pre Hacking (2015 - 2019)[]
Crazytrain525's content mainly revolved around the same style they continue to upload today although with more Thomas and Friends and PIKO related content[1]. The first video uploaded to the channel has not been archived or re-uploaded and thus remains a piece of lost media.
Hacking (2019 - 2020)[]
Although other uploads from the hacker were mentioned they have not been archived and all content uploaded to the channel from 2015 to the hacking was deleted.
Context[]
In September of 2019 Crazytrain525 was hacked by a Vietnamese and Crazytrain525 was unable to regain control of his channel until July, 2020[2][3][4].
Return (2020 - Current)[]
They uploaded a video confirming that control over the channel had returned to them; with content resuming much like it had to before the hacking. However, a massive subscriber hike was seen after the hacking from 50K+ to nearly 90K subscribers within three years.
Trivia:[]
- Despite appearances the Thomas and James models used for crashes are not the same as the ones used to approach the staged crash site. With both characters portrayed as Lionel models before crashing rather then Bachmann models used in B-roll footage. The Bachmann Percy is used for it's crashes as Lionel never produced a G-scale Percy.
