Cricket Wireless, or just Cricket, is an American wireless service provider owned by AT&T. It was founded on March 17, 1999, in Chicago, Illinois.

History[]

Cricket was founded by Leap Wireless International. Its first market was in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in 1999. It firstly focused on rural markets. In 2007, MetroPCS, one of Cricket's competitors, announced a $5.3 billion bid to merge with Leap Wireless, which Leap rejected a few weeks later. In 2008, Metro and Cricket entered an agreement covering things about both companies. In 2014, AT&T purchased Leap Wireless, and merged Cricket with another wireless service, Aio Wireless.

Channel[]

The channel was created on February 26, 2009, and their first video was uploaded on May 28, 2014. The channel uploaded TV commercials of their service, usually including their 3D mascots, who are notable for appearing on almost every Cricket commercial.
