Deku Scrub Covers (abbreviated DSC) is an Australian musician who specializes in covering video game music with a guitar and bass.

History[]

2011[]

DSC joined YouTube on June 15, 2011. Its first cover was a seven minute medley with themes from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on acoustic guitar. It did two more videos in 2011, which were covers of Gerudo Valley from the Zelda 25th Anniversary symphony and Romance in the Air from Skyward Sword.

2012[]

The first cover of 2012 was the credits theme from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. The next three covers were the Song of Storms remix from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Bowser's Castle from Mario Kart 7, and Littleroot Town from Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire. On July 11, a four-and-a-half medley featured valve video game themes. The next three covers were the Music Box House from Majora's Mask, wild battle theme from Ruby & Sapphire, and Rosalina's Observatory from Super Mario Galaxy. On September 1, a cover of Kakariko is Saved from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess released. It was then followed by the main theme from Metal Gear Solid 3 and a dual-game medley combining with Super Mario Land and Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. On October 7, a cover of Hyrule Field from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was released. On November 4, a cover of Lynna Village, both past and present from The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages was released. It would then be followed by the Deoxys battle theme from Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen and Lost Woods from Ocarina of Time. The last cover in 2012 was a Metal Gear Solid 3 medley.

2013[]

A cover of the main theme from Wreck-It Ralph released on February 10. It would then follow with three covers, which included New Bark Town from Pokémon Gold & Silver, a Majora's Mask medley, and Bamboo Island from Skyward Sword. On March 15, a medley with various themes from Banjo-Kazooie was released featuring MaximumHamburgers doing the drums. It marked the first time DSC had another YouTube user collaborate together with it. On March 29, DSC did a cover of Lon Lon Ranch from Ocarina of Time featuring TeraCMusic on vocals. Four covers followed, which were Route 4 from Pokémon Red & Blue, Hyrule Castle from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, a Metal Gear Solid series medley, and Green Greens from Kirby's Dream Land. On May 30, the credits theme from Super Mario 64 was covered along with Koume & Kotake from Ocarina of Time. By June 23, four covers from popular games continued to garner success with the first Dr. Wily stage from Mega Man 2, Ordon Village from Twilight Princess, Green Hill Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog (1991), and the trainer battle from Red & Blue. By July 27, three covers included the underwater theme from Super Mario Bros., Kokiri Forest from Ocarina of Time, and Jolly Roger Bay from Super Mario 64. After covering Route 101 from Ruby & Sapphire, the next cover was an eight minute medley with themes from The Last of Us featuring 8Amaterasu8. After that, four covers from popular games included Overworld 1 from Super Mario World, Agitha's Castle from Twilight Princess, Zora's Domain from Ocarina of Time featuring Krissalad, and a Pokémon Red & Blue medley. To promote the recent release of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, DSC did a cover of Lorule Castle on December 7. After covering Cool, Cool mountain from Super Mario 64, two covers featured xclassicalcatx, which were Snowbelle City from Pokémon X & Y and Hikari from Kingdom Hearts.

Advertisement
