Deji Araoye[1] (born: June 16, 1999 (1999-06-16) [age 26]), better known online as DTG (short for DejiTheGamer)[2] is a British YouTuber, musician, and professional boxer. He first gained fame as a YouTuber, earning more than 160,000 subscribers to his channel by posting vlogs, challenges, and football videos.

Early life[]

Araoye was born and raised in Croydon, South London. His social media career began in April 2012 when he created his Twitter account. His father is Nigerian and his mother is Jamaican. He has two brothers. He also has two half-brothers.

YouTube career[]

DTG has made a lot of videos of FIFA, vlogs and more. In December 2017 he made a parody version of Big Shaq - Mans Not Hot a character played by Michael Dapaah. He made Mans Not Cold(a sequel video) and it got 9.5M Views. He stopped making videos to do his music career. In February 2021, he returned to YouTube via a Gaming series called "Get2Gaming" with other UK artists and influencers.

2018: Career beginnings with Never Stop Me[]

DTG made his first single song called "Never Stop Me" with a Music video on GRM Daily.

2019: Theresa, (Dr. Vades Remix), See You Later and Rover[]

In 2019 DTG second release of 2019, ‘Theresa’ sees the South London Artist deliver a high-spirited track with an impressive melodic flow. ‘Theresa’ tells the familiar story of dishonesty in relationships – using UK British politics as a very timely analogy. He made a Remix Version of Theresa by Dr. Vades featuring S1 and Sneakbo. After the release of Theresa he made his third single called "See You Later" which has 650K Views of the Music video in GRM Daily. In November 2019 he made his fourth single song called "Rover" song by S1mba featuring himself in Link Up TV after the song came out a TikTok creator in Australia had made a Dance challenge of the song and went top of the music weekly charts and have a nominated in the 2021 BRIT Awards.

2020: Rarri (Unreleased), Dem Boys, My People, The Only Way Is Up and Leader[]

On July 2020 British YouTuber and rapper KSI has made a tweet on Twitter shouting out DTG and other artists in Genius COSIGN.[3] KSI shared a snippet of the instrumental of the unreleased track "Rarri by DTG" on his Instagram story alongside multiple beats of songs he’d been working on. On February 13, 2021, DTG shared a snippet of the song. And other parts of the song of their verses have been leaked by KSI fan pages on Instagram rumors of people saying it was KSI song but it was DTG song. DTG had to clear the air of the rumors of the song. After the Rover success he dropped his fifth solo single song called "Dem Boys". DTG dropped a another song called "My People" about the ENDSARS situation. DTG dropped his fifth single called "Leader featuring (Chappo (CSB) and Screama)" on Pressplay Media.

Boxing career[]

DTG vs. Halal Ham[]

On 15 September, 2022, it was announced that Araoye would make his boxing debut against English YouTuber Halal Ham on the undercard of MF & DAZN X Series 002: Jay Swingler vs. Cherdleys on 15 October 2022 at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield.[4] On the night of the fight, DTG was defeated by Ham via unanimous decision, with all three judges' scorecards of 29-28 in Ham's favour.[5]

DTG vs. S-X[]

On 18 September 2023, it was announced that Araoye will face English singer S-X on the preliminary card of the MF & DAZN: X Series 10 – The Prime Card at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England on October 14, 2023.[6] On the night of the fight, Araoye defeated S-X via 1st round technical knockout.

DTG vs. Myles Rak-Su[]

On December 20, 2023 it was announced that DTG will face English singer Myles Rak-Su on the undercard of MF & DAZN: X Series 12: Ed Matthews vs. TBA on January 20, 2024 at the First Direct Arena in Leeds.[7] On the night of the fight, DTG defeated Rak-Su via 2nd round technical knockout.[8]

DTG vs. Malcolm Minikon[]

On April 12, 2024, it was announced that DTG declared his intention to move down to cruiserweight and would participate in the MFB Cruiserweight Title Tournament, where the winner would be crowned the new MFB cruiserweight champion. He was matched up with American TikTok star DK Money for the quarter-final of the tournament.[9] On June 30, it was announced that DTG will face American internet personality Malcolm Minikon on the undercard of the MF & DAZN: X Series 17 on August 31, 2024 at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.[10] On the night of the fight, DTG was defeated by Minikon via majority decision.[11]
