Daidus (born: May 23, 1994 (1994-05-23)) is an American YouTube story time animator, illustrator, comedian and voice actor. His art is characterized by his cartoon/anime illustrations.

Career

Daidus got his start using DeviantArt. He would later start his channel in 2015 however, no publicly available videos have been uploaded until 2016. His animation videos have been largely inspired by Japanese anime. He also has a largely cartoon like art style however, with a squid theme, along with fellows Sen and the Fat Guy.

Controversy

Tracing

According to a Twitter tweet by DaftPina, one of the scenes from Daidus' video, "IS DAIDUS DATING SEN ??? (Animated Q&A)", is actually an uncredited tracing of an artwork from DeviantArt. Daidus has stopped tracing since then.

Trivia

• His videos "My Super HOT English Teacher (Animation)" and "My Very Awkward First Time Drawing Models In Art Class (Animation)" went viral after he posted them in the summer of 2017.
• His nationality is American (Maine), he considers himself "half-Asian". In one of his tweets, he said that he is Chinese, Cambodian (where his mother is from, as mentioned in his "VHS Collection" video), Irish and Lithuanian.
• In October 2019, he began dating fellow YouTube animator, Emily (Emirichu).
  • In March 2022, Emily and Daidus moved to Tokyo, Japan and have lived together since then.
  • As of May 2024, they run a channel named Spilled Ink.
• In his "Grown Adult Man Freaks Out Over Disney Movies" video, he mentions that some of his favorite movies are "Spirited Away", "A Goofy Movie" and "The Road to El Dorado". His favorite movie is "Princess Mononoke".
