Danielle Cohn (birthday: March 7) is an American actress, model, and social media influencer. As of October 2020, she has gained over 18.5 million followers on the social media app TikTok.
Danielle Haeiligh Cohn was born to Dustin Sprangler Cohn and Jennifer Marie Archambault in Florida on March 7th, 2006. Not much is known about her other than her birth, and her mother's YouTube channel.
Danielle Cohn become famous for winning the crown at Miss Florida Jr. Preteen in 2014. Her online persona become notable for her lip-syncing videos on Musical.ly where she would lip-sync different songs. At first, Danielle said, she thought the app was kind of dumb, but she liked the concept of posting lip-sync videos and kept going.
Danielle posted enough videos to the app to start getting featured numerous times and eventually grew tens of millions of followers organically. She was one of the first people to surpass 10 million followers on Musical.ly.
She quickly became one of the most popular users on the app, and soon started to receive sponsorships and brand deals from popular brands such as Samsung, Six Flags, and Target. Her average sponsored Musical.ly video back then would earn her around $400 to $500. In March 2017, Danielle's family moved from Florida to Los Angeles to focus on Danielle's career full-time.
Early on in her YouTube career, changing her style from music videos to vlogs, social media users had raised concerns about her personal decisions, ranging from her wearing revealling clothes, to taking "risque" photoshoots of her in bikinis and her being in certain romatic relationships with male content creators who were much older than her, eighteen years old to be exact.
Concerns had gotten worse when people started questioning her age as some people had discovered her mother's YouTube account. The first video on that account was Danielle, aged 6 years old, singing the song Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, on stage in a place called "the yogi bear campground". This was the first piece of evidence that Danielle had lied about her age on the internet.
The spark of the backlash for her dating life started when she started dating a fellow Musical.ly star named Sebastian Topete, who was 17 years old. Jenifer manages him saying that the two were friends for over a year before becoming a couple, and they know his family well. She later dated Mikey Tua, and Ethan Fair from 2019 to January 2020. When dating Mikey Tua, the two got “married” in Las Vegas, but her mother said it never became legal. In addition, they faked a pregnancy.
On September 16, 2019, Danielle's father, Dustin Cohn, went to Facebook to address the claims about Danielle's real age. In a now deleted post, he claims his daughter isn't 15 as she claims to be, and that she is in fact 13 years old.
|“||I have decided to set things straight about my daughter Danielle Cohn. For years I have done the diplomatic thing while dealing with my daughter being online in a way I didn't approve of and trying to have it handled out of social media because I figured the system would work and keep my daughter safe. We found Pinterest boards with her photos and I told her mom I worried about pedophiles. The pictures now have gotten worse and worse. I am finally saying something on social media because people need to be held accountable.||”|
―Dustin's Facebook Post
Dustin's friend, Blake Lyons, commented a screenshot of Danielle Cohn's birth certificate. The document listed her date of birth as March 7, 2006 , meaning that Danielle would have been 13 at the time, not 15 as she claimed to be.
On June of 2020, Dustin addressed the situation again, creating a YouTube channel where he posted several clips on the matter. In one clip, Dustin shows the birth certificate again to prove that Danielle was not the age she claimed to be.
Danielle responded to this in a YouTube video titled "The Truth About My Dad." In the video, Danielle talked about her parents toxic relationship and claimed that Dustin drank excessively and was very violent towards them. Danielle also claimed that Dustin had kicked the entire family out of his house one time, to which Dustin responded claiming that he never forced his children to leave his house.
Danielle's mother, Jennifer Archembault maintains the earlier date.
In 2020, leaked audio between Danielle and her mother mentioned the star had an abortion. Danielle came out and said she had the abortion in January 2020 and spoke candidly about the experience and how she had been manipulated into the situation.
Relationship with her mother
In 2021, Danielle's former manager Michael Weist had come out made a YouTube video talking about how Danielle and Jenifer treated him, spending $50,000 on paying for a birthday dinner at boa, paying for party buses, heavily discounting all the music videos that he had produced for her and yet to be paid for it as of 21/08/2021. They had started filming a documentary when Mikey Tua invited him to their house in Florida. The documentary was called "Obssesed" but it didn't go any further after filming was finished. After getting to know Danille and Jenifer on a closer level, Michael stopped filming it because he felt uncomfortable with watching Jenifer taking advantage of Danielle. Especially since he had noticed a pattern of behaviour between the two of them, with Jenifer insiting on wearing revealing clothes for pictures on Instagram.
At one point when talking during the shooting of the documentary, Jenifer had told Michael that she had enherated $300,000 in her bank account from the money that Danielle was making, and then months later, she had less than $10,000. At one point in Los Angeles, Michael and Danielle were in a mall, and Michael felt like he was in the middle of whatever squabbles Danielle and her mother would have, it got to the point where Danielle pulled Michael to the side and told him her real age, and asked him to speak to her mother about the emails, which at the time were in Jenifer's control, including the brand deals.
When talking to Jenifer about the emails, Michael felt very uncomfortable and kept insiting that this was not his place.
