Dem and Ika is a Canadian YouTube channel run by couple Ika Wong and Demetres Giannitsos.
History[]
Demetres and Ika first met in the fifth season of Big Brother Canada. This was Demetres' first time playing, and it was Ika's second time, as she previously played during season 2. While in the house, they grew closer and became the showmance of the season. After the season ended, they started to date outside of the house.
Big Brother Canada - Ika[]
Before Ika and Demetres met, Ika appeared on season 2 of Big Brother Canada. She became known for shredding everyone's letters from home to take $5,000. During week 1 of the game, Ika had a rough start as she had to wear a bathing suit for 48 hours, and was nominated by Paul Jackson, putting her at risk of being the first person voted out. However, she managed to stay in the house by an 11-0 vote over Anick Gervis. After winning the Head of Household competition during week 3, Ika targeted Heather Decksheimer for eviction. However, this backfired as Paul was voted out instead by a 6-4 vote. The next week, Ika was targeted by everyone remaining in the house except for her ally Adel Elseri. Ika was voted out the same week by an 8-1 vote placing 12th.
Ika later returned to season 5 where she met Demetres, and polished her game more, being the most strategic person of the season. She notably formed strong relationships throughout the house, building a vets alliance and aligning herself and eventually becoming a showmance with competition threat Demetres. Together, she formed The Six with four other returnees, while also aligning herself with the likes of Cassandra, Gary, and The French Connection. Ika and Demetres continued their power reign with Demetres winning competitions and Ika relying on her social and manipulative gameplay to advance the two. Her strengths in the two areas brought her to the final four, where she was the victim of the sole vote of veto winner Kevin Martin, resulting in her coming in 4th place and becoming the 8th member of the Jury. She later returned to the finale where she voted Kevin to win the game. [1]
Big Brother Canada - Demetres[]
Demetres entered the house during season 5 and was immediately targeted for being a physical threat, being put not the block week 1 by Karen Singbeil. However, he was managed to narrowly escape being voted out by a vote of 7-6. He then managed to escape being targeted after winning Head of Household week 2, until his relationship with Ika became obvious during week 6. During the last few weeks, he and Kevin Martin developed a rivalry and continuously targeted each other. He ultimately placed third after Kevin cast the single vote to evict him. He was the 9th and final member of the jury, and later voting Kevin to win the whole season.[2]
