Detroit Red Wings is an American NHL team based in Detroit, Michigan, United States. They currently play for the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference.
History[]
They were founded on September 25, 1926, with the name Detroit Cougars, after purchasing the Victoria Cougars.[1]
In 1930, they changed their name to the Falcons.[1]
In 1932, they changed their name to the Red Wings.[1]
In 1936, they won their first Stanley Cup title.[1][2]
