Dimpu Baruah (Assamese: দিম্পু বৰুৱা; born: August 6, 1995)[1] is an Indian[2] YouTuber who uploads vlogs and educational videos to YouTube. He is the most subscribed individual YouTuber from the state of Assam, and is known for his Nalbariya accent.[2]
YouTube career[]
Dimpu gained fame after a video showing the Gordon School in Nalbari in dilapidated condition gained widespread traction due to being covered on Pratidin Time.[3]
His second channel "Dimpu's Vlogs" is the most subscribed channel located in Assam.[4] He also operates a semi-active third channel named "Diiimpu" where he uploads videos in Hindi, also in his signature Nalbariya accent.
Outside of YouTube, Dimpu also engages in activism work, most notably raising awareness on waste management in Guwahati in 2021,[5] and also fundraising for victims of the 2020 Assam floods.[6]
Personal life[]
A resident of the Nalbari district of lower Assam,[7] he completed a few years of his secondary school education in Pathsala, failing and having to repeat class 7.[8]
