Phillip Calvin McGraw (born: September 1, 1950 (1950-09-01) [age 74]), better known as Dr Phil, is an American psychologist who runs a television series of the same name. His eponymous show, created by McGraw and Oprah Winfrey, is essentially a talk show on which he has troubled children, and sometimes their parents, as guests, to help them with their issues. The videos he uploads to his YouTube channel are re-uploads of clips from his show, or sometimes, they can be full videos lasting around 14 minutes long, but never are full episodes officially uploaded to the channel. He currently has over 6 million subscribers.

Early life and rise to fame[]

Dr Phil was born on September 1, 1950, in Vinita, Oklahoma. He had three sisters. His goal in life was to become a psychologist; he graduated in 1975 from the Midwestern State University with a B.A. in psychology. He went on to earn an M.A. in experimental psychology in 1976, and a Ph.D. degree in clinical psychology in 1979. Throughout the 1990s, he had various appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah later helped him make his own show, Dr. Phil, in 2002. He joined YouTube in 2007 and uploads clips from his show to his channel.

Dr. Phil is married to Robin Jameson and they have two children.
