Emily Hartridge † (May 25, 1984 - July 12, 2019 [aged 35])[citation needed] was an English[citation needed] YouTube vlogger who covered topics such as relationships. Most of the videos are filmed indoors while she answered questions.

Emily was best known for her "Ten Reasons Why..." (stylised as "10 REASONS WHY...") videos, where she spoke on a variety of subjects related to dating, sex, family life and other subjects, which at various points gained traction by being posted on the websites of The Huffington Post and Daily Mail.[citation needed]

In 2016 Emily hosted the documentary TV series Oh Shit I'm 30 for Channel 4 which aired on their All 4 online platform,[1] in which she talked with a variety of people on a variety of topics ranging from their sexuality to their careers to their relationships with their family and how those had changed once they reached their 30s.[2]

Personal Life[]

Emily grew up in a family with three sisters, Charlotte and twin sisters Alice and Jessica.[citation needed]

Emily dated fellow YouTuber Jake Hazell, who she met while working as a personal trainer, with Jake appearing in several of her videos. The two moved in together in June 2019 and were trying to have a baby, even though Emily was diagnosed with low fertility in 2018, with Emily posting a series of blogs to her channel documenting her thoughts and feelings on the situation before beginning fertility treatment in 2019.[citation needed]

Death[]

On July 12th 2019, Emily was riding an electric scooter through Battersea in London when she was struck by a truck, dying at the scene.[3] After her death, it emerged that the e-scooter she was riding was the one she was given as a present in the video "10 REASONS TO GET A YOUNGER BOYFRIEND", which was uploaded to her channel four days before.[4]

Her funeral took place three weeks later in Havant, Hampshire.[5]
